It's our anniversary next month and as my GF loves a bit of Puzzle Bobble on MVS I'm thinking of picking up another game in the series for her.
Do any of the games in the series stand out or are they all pretty good?
If anyone knows how much they go for and/or what hardware is required then that would be great too

<davewgtn> they're all the same really
<davewgtn> they added story and stuff to the later ones
<davewgtn> apparently the azumanga one on naomi has a cool feature in multiplayer where there is a small window between player 1 and 2
<davewgtn> you can fire your junk bubbles through and ruin your opponents screen
Besides the Naomi one, the rest (worth mentioning) are on Taito F3. Not sure if there is anything notable about 2/2X/3 that is better than 4.

I have puzzle bobble 2 on taito f3...its definitely one of the best "wife approved" games around. Supposedly puzzle bobble 2x is the same only with holiday-themed attract mode animations and a special mode with new levels...

Go for Puzzle Bubble 2 on MVS if you already have the Mobo! Mine's a nice clear cart, the tunes are a bit less repetitive, plus you have different modes and backgrounds.

There is also Puzzle de Pon / R on mvs which are puzbob clones... Maigcal Drop II / III are also very addictive puzzle games similar to puzbob.

2X is my favorite. Normal 2 has the same puzzles in both "Normal" and "Hard" modes. 2X replaces "Hard" with "X Mode." It has
all new expert puzzles. Basically 2X has twice as many puzzles as standard 2. 3 sucks, don't bother. 4 has the bubbles on weighted
chains, personally I'm not a fan of it, I prefer the simpler style of the older games. So yeah, get 2X on F3. I bought my cart for 250yen

Stronger then your average deadite.

Thanks for the help guys.
Is PB2 on MVS the same as PB2 on the F3?
Whats the prices like for a PB2 MVS cart and for PB2 F3 'cart' and mobo? Also, how much does a PB2X go for?
Johnbud had a cheap F3 setup for sale recently, I should have grabbed that
If I do get a F3 are there any other games worth picking up?

Elevator action 2 was quite good, also worth noting is that you can make the motherboard region free with a small simple mod

Just buy her Uo Poko, it's cute, fun, hard on single play, and tremendously fun on double play.

Just my opinion but PB3>PB2X>PB4. Haven't really played anything past 4 (with exception to some of the really horrible newer console versions).
If you get a F3. I highly recommend the Bubble Memories, Bubble Symphony, Elevator Action & Land Maker!

If you want to stick to Puzzle Bobble like games on the MVS system, I would suggest considering Money Puzzle Exchanger. By far my personal favorite on the Neo hardware for puzzle games...

I bought an F3 mobo+PB2X(Japanese) for 40 euro. Not sure if that is a good price but definitely cheaper than PB2 for the MVS. The holliday attract mode is funny although not adding anything really.

a nice puzzle/wife game is magical drop 3 on mvs.
otherwise, my PB4 is the way to go according to me. And if you really want PB2, better get the 2X on F3 as it will cost as much for cart+mobo than PB2 cart on mvs, and the F3 mobo could be used for other games later.

F3 also has Elevator Action Returns (great game), both Bubble Symphony and Bubble Memories, Arkanoid Returns and Darius Gaiden among others.
