death smiles 360 port

Post by charlie chong » August 27th, 2008, 12:31 pm

i noticed the death smiles thread on shmups was being bumped but didn't look in till today.. turns out d.s is being prorted to 360. theres even some scans.

looks like my first new generation console is deffo gonna be a jpn 360 now. what good sticks are there for 360 or would i better off going for a custom?

hummm theres this http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dd- ... -2xht.html" Hori EX2 its pretty good.

i hear the hori pro.ex is better but ive not tried it http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dd- ... -2xht.html"

you may have dificult trying to get hold of that one at a fair price. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dd- ... -2sxk.html"

the other route is custom like you mentioned but seems finding a person who makes good quality stick with regulartiy is few and far between.

If you do go for a EX2 don't pay play-asia's price for it. Gamestation currently have them for £9.99 (same price for the hori fighting stick 3 for the ps3 too).

The EX2 works perfectly in windows/osx too so can be used with mame. (the FS3 works for some people and not others in windows - certainly never worked for me).

The Pro.EXE seems to be getting a USA release in december (according to THIS play-asia page). If so it'll be the first HRAP to be released in the west that I can remember - I guess there is hope for a euro release too.

The standard EX2 is OK, but a bit on the lightweight/flimsy side - and swapping sticks/buttons in it is awkward (the Pro.EX is just a case of remove old stick/buttons and put new ones in).

There`s one on ebay saying that the asian 360 is compatible with japanese games , just plug in your 110v power supply and you ready to go

It entirely depends on the game:

Japan
Japan + Rest of Asia
USA
Europe
Australia
Asia
China
Region Free

Are the main regions, but a game can be any combination (Japan, Europe + Australia for example).

Most japanese games are for japan region only, but there are exceptions. Play-Asia have a regional compatibility guide.

I'm looking forward to this but its bound to be region locked and not released outside of Japan. Fortunatly i'm going on holiday to Japan earlier next year so i think i'll pick up a Japanese 360.

Highly unlikely, they'd have to resize sprites and alter bullet patterns. It'll have borders.
