cab toppeled over - monitor broken - solved!!!!

Post by chubsta » October 4th, 2008, 3:54 pm

Whilst moving my lovely astro city today - only had it delivered this lunchtime - the unit fell against the door frame - although there is no outward damage, not even a scratch, the monitor look like this when it switched on... (from resaerch i hve just done it looks like 'vertical frame collapse' - is that right? And does anyone know how to fix it cos im gutted

Is all lost or is it retrievable??

I think its a vertical deflection issue, but someone should be able to verify that quickly enough. I'd check to make sure nothing obvious has been unseated or pulled out on the chassis/tube for now.

I've had that before. Check that the cable from the remote board to the chassis is connected. you'll need to stick your head in the cab or take the rear pannel off.

Would that be because all the pots would be at infinite resistance (i.e. no connection)?

Probably, if the remote board is disconnected, I had a similar problem when I did a chassis swap recently and placed the vertical size molex on the wrong place, leading to no v.size adjustment.

Check the neckboard is connected securely also, can't harm to check.

That's what happened to me.

Tate’d the astro & the cable from the remote board to the chassis was fixed to the body of the cab.

I’ve previously necked a tube, so it was brown pants time for me
