nanao MS9 problem

Post by robotype » April 27th, 2009, 11:23 am

I am trying to use an MS9 chassis on a toshiba A68KJU96X (4K)(astro city) tube, seems to work but when I move the picture up and down it suffers of trapezoid distorsion. image becomes larger on the top.

I have another MS9 chassis and it does exactly the same thing. so I tested both chassis on a A68KSA30X (D) hitachi tube wich originally used an MS9 so it should be perfect but it does exactly the same issue. any idea?

I tried adjusting all of the pots on the chassis but won't help, you can get a good steady picture but when you move it up and down it will be deformed. is there anybody else using an ms9 in the astro city (toshiba A68KJU96X - 4K)? does it usually work fine?

if you notice in the movie the radius of movement of the picture is very short as I am moving the pot to the maximum, I think it was much longer on the ms8. could the cause be a bad cap?

this is more likely down to slight difference in the yoke specifications or the yoke is slightly out of place
