Values of degauss sw & unknown part

Post by erzane » March 31st, 2019, 10:15 pm

I'm planing to build a remote for a Nanao MS8-18FB chassis and I'd like to add two parts onto it in addition of the former geometry pots.
On the following pics, first they deported a switch that I also have on my chassis (see pic#3 for detail) and on another remote, they're using a tact sw as a degauss button:

- what would be the value of the degauss button (should I add some resistances for it)?
- can I desolder/resolder the blue switch to place it onto my remote?
- how many wires should I add for both (including gnd)?

Thanks!

That switch in the first picture is completely useless. It adds 'sharpness' to the image. Every single time I've tried it makes the image look worse. No wonder it was dropped on the MS9.

The degauss switch on the Toshiba remote works differently differently than the one on the MS8. For the MS8 you just need a simple contact switch that can handle mains voltage.

You want to say that I can use the value and the On/Off switch I want? How should I hook those wires (blue/red) to the switch?
If I choose automatic degauss, where should I hook those wires?

The red wire is a jumper across the connector. The blue wires are connected together for automatic degauss or to a momentary switch (like a game button) for manual degauss.
Im running games with a vga to tv converter on my Shangai Novel, with composite and it looks amazing, Im not interested in RGB or Scart.

Does ''jumper'' means that I should use one only red wire starting at #1 and going to #2?

You should make an exhibition of all your drawings :penser:

But yes, it's like that.
