Help with Wei-ya purchase

Post by vaughan14 » June 6th, 2018, 1:50 pm

Hey guys,

I have a Samsung A68QCP891X002 Tube without a chassis, I purchased a wei-ya C3129DS chassis which was labelled as a match (it isn't).
I did the leg work and bought an inductance meter and measured the yoke values, and also checked wei-ya's website for the values and what matches, which they have taken down now?
Anyway I got a refund after the chassis went poof, will the tube still work?

I have recently found a new chassis for sale a Wei-ya C3129DHSS which is supposedly a match but I cant find much info on the net, I have emailed wei-ya but they sent me a generic manual and didn't give me any other info.
This new chassis is about half the cost of a new tube/chassis couriered to me.
My questions are, Is my tube still going to work, is this chassis a match and is it worth buying a new tube/chassis instead?

Cheers Vaughan :)

Tube will be fine.

Yoke values should be on the sticker attached to the heatsink around the flyback, like this:

The best help we can give you is saying; leave the Wei-Ya for what it is and spend a bit more.
