tri-sync NAC or Egret3

Post by ckong » March 27th, 2009, 5:43 pm

I have a NAC and a Rodotron 666a chassis which has yet to be installed. However, I might consider to buy an Egret 3 instead (or as an extra :P ) , but I'm wondering which monitor will have a better 15K picture (after I tri-synced the NAC). I like scanlines, but they shouldn't be to thick or dark (as is the case with Amotiswave monitors I believe).

So basically, with which monitor will I be more pleased?

Personally I hate 15K on both when done. I'd say leave your NAC with the original chassis as it is perfectly fine for 15K.

Best monitors for both 15/31K are Nanao MS29-31A and Sanwa PFX, the Wei-ya,Rodotron/Pentranic ones are too crap in 15K and have bad geometry issues..

Keep the Astro and add the E3.

You know it makes sense.
current line up: 3 x New Astro City 2x Atomiswave SD, 3 x Aero (2 NOS) and Aero Table

Also, you won't be able to top the MS8 or 9 for 15k, other than with maybe a Toshiba 15k.

MS8/9 = win.

That I'd be well impressed with. Especially if it's well built and reliable too.

Make it compatible with a WG D9200 tube ;)

Same tube.. :)

29" monitors are harsh on some of the old skool 15K games..
