Mounting pcb to wood?

Post by SailorLodestar » May 10th, 2019, 7:48 pm

What size screw do you use to mount PCB feet to the wood plank like what goes in a Blast City? I tried some screws from a set I have but they're all too long so I can't slide the board in and out freely with them. None of the listings I've seen online for PCB feet nor the ones I bought come with mounting screws.

Any tips or links would be appreciated.

Just measure how thick the wood is, and knock off 5mm

There's another couple of ways to mount them below:

Something like this?

I stole the idea from someone else on this site, it's very easy and fast changing you PCBs like this. I use these hooks i combination with PCB feet beacuse then you'll get more space between the PCB and the wooden board for ventilation.

I also use a PCB holder in my other cab:

I've screwed them to the board before, used a PCB holder and used the hook method. Out of the three I prefer the hook method.
