Solved! :awe:

Only way this is doable without mame. I wouldn't have fancied hunting and overpaying for a game I don't particularly want, just to lose a competition.

Shmups doesn't give out prizes :P

It's just an idea. The PB tournament fizzled out.

And I don't really want to get a cab set up for MAME if I can help it.

i think it should have some limit on how many scores any one person can submit 2-3 it may add to the comp if you can only add 2 scores ..
and have no chat in the thread so scores dont get lost etc you could have a seperate chat thread maybe

Anyone fancy an arcade otaku poker night sometime? We can set up a private table on poker stars or something. Just a cheapish friendly game.

I play a £5 rebuy most weeks with a group of friends and get **** on cheap beer. Solid entertainment. I had my first ever game with the same group over ten years ago and learnt how to play. Easy to pick up really. It doesn't take long until you're trying to get away with **** moves. It can be a right laugh. I don't tend to play online, but with eachother it'd be much more interesting.

I would be, can we make it Turbo as I hate 4 hour games when the pot is £25

Also, to stay on topic. I think my idea id the only go'er with original hardware. People could "practice" on Mame, but final submission (say the top 3 if they are the prize spots) needs to accompanied by a video?

Build in some slack time, but in theory you keep the pcb for a week, then move it on. I can only post at the w/e, so it's the only way I could participate.

Cheap games I have, under £50:

Snow Bros
Rally Bike
MVS (a plenty) + Small 1 slot
Brave Blade
Sol Divide

Oh yeah, definitely turbo. It's good if you can make it cheap enough to be friendly, but it's got to be enough so you want to win. Me and my mates tend to add up to 8-10 players and with rebuys the prizes are usually around £60-£100 first, £30-£50 for second, £0-£15 third. Seems to be quite a good format.

I'll start a thread later. Carry on.

I'd be up for this. Only have a few games (mostly Street Fighter) but I could quite happily get a new game or game-share.

As for the poker - only played it a few times, but I have a cool neighbour who is more than adept that I could get to teach cheat for me! :awe:

I agree:

1. STRIKERS I/II,
2. AEROFIGHTERS I/II,
3. RAIDEN (Any, just not I),
4. SKYSHARK, and
5. CAPCOM (any JAMMA shmup).

And the cheaper and more common the better. 'cause you know as soon as the eBay PCB sellers find out about this they wil double the price on that board (for some stupid reason or another).
