Good to learn! The ROMs on the discs must've been used for assets only

Re: Dodonpachi Saidaioujou EXA LABEL
Intresting, I thought the 360 version used 480x640 assets, not the original 240x320 ones. I've never played that version nor exA version yet but comparing exA screenshots with PCB screenshots, graphics look more detailed on exA:
PCB version: https://www.arcadebelgium.net/t4089-dod ... ujou#26536
EXA version: https://www.arcadebelgium.net/t6270-dod ... abel#35833
It's very probable that the different game sprites and scenery elements were originally rendered in higher resolution then downsampled for 240p display. Does Cave still have access to those hi-res renders (or is able to do new renders in higher resolution)? I guess they don't care for this game but I hope they'll take the time to do it (or at least provide the ressources to Team EXA) for future exA ports of their games.

Re: Dodonpachi Saidaioujou EXA LABEL
Original mode plays very close to the PCB, with better graphics and sound, but exA Label is where the fun is at. Having been at the location test in Teine, I can vouch for it.
To me, there is no point in owning the PCB since I find the exA version superior in every point.
It costs half the price of the PCB, and a fraction of the money gets to CAVE and exA to fund development of newer games instead of some reseller/hoarder, so really that's a no-brainer for me.

Yeah. Pretty sure original assets for this, and at least some other cv1k games were 480p and then downsampled for the pcb versions. 360 ports use 480p assets for sdoj.Nomax wrote: ↑December 11th, 2020, 11:41 pmIntresting, I thought the 360 version used 480x640 assets, not the original 240x320 ones. That money to cave will be put to good use to fund the next paedophilic cameltoe novel for iphone. If i could choose between an sh3 pcb and a freaking PC in my cab i know what i'd choose.VxD wrote: ↑December 12th, 2020, 3:09 amOriginal mode plays very close to the PCB, with better graphics and sound, but exA Label is where the fun is at. Looks really fun. That video also makes it look easy (which it probably isn't!) :p

Tanoshimasu take note, streaming and game play videos are good.
