As I said several times, the graphics are just amazing. The pinnacle of 2d? The programmers have stated they wanna release the definitive 2d game...

High-res 2D sprites is nice, though I find the chosen art-style disappointingly generic/bland. I hope it is not as lazily animated as the old KOF titles, MOTW smoothness please...

There were some closeups in Arcadia that showed some pretty intricate clothing animation going on. If anything its the effects I'm worried about.

If it looks as good moving as the screens and plays as well as XI its going to be great.

if its anything its the characters I'm worried about, I couldn't give a crap about ash, or kim kaphwan for that matter.

I hope its not full of playmoreesque KOF2003/XI chars. meh

looking good though!

Never been a big fan of the KoF series, same as Virtua Fighter the movelists never really seemed complete to me. To be fair tho I haven't played one since neowave :P

I'd imagine neowave could put anyone off.

KOF is awesome, deep and a lot different to SF. I say stick with it. KOF98 is fantastic

Was 98 not the one that got a re-release this year?

yeah, I haven't played it though, I'm not really interested in much playmore do. Adding characters that weren't in 98 to 98.. wow.

ahem

I'd just rather play the MVS original how it was meant to be

KOF98 Ultimate is starting to get very cheap.

I like some of the playmore stuff, granted it's not that "fresh" but it's still playable. KOF2002 is still popular (in my house)

I played the arcade version of 98 UM on Sunday and I was not very impressed, much prefer the MVS version.

heh, just as I expected, playmore can't get much right, apart from raping old SNK franchises.

KoF´98 UM is fantastic, you REALLY need to check it out in-depth if you like ´98. The controls are much better, and the changes are well-thought and definitely add to the game.

I only played a couple of games in Casino arcade in London on a Megalo and something seemed not quite right, everything seemed to lag compared to the mvs version.

I never noticed anything like that, but I only know the PS2-port. Never heard of this problem on the arcade version either. :?

not MVS cheap though. I played it and liked it but I found myself asking, Why Am I playing this in the arcade when i have it at home on MVS. But for the level i play KOF on I could not see a big enough difference.

It may of been the cab the picture quality was awful and the sticks had seen better days, I have not tried the PS2 version.
