A couple of Atomiswave questions...

Post by jase »

Hi there

Im thinking about getting an Atomiswave set up along with Rumble Fish 2 and Dolphin Blue. At the mo I have a supergun / telly set up.

Do I need a high res monitor to play these games? How would they look on a normal telly?

Also does the atomiswave unit require its own power supply or is it a case of just plugging it into the supergun?

Has anyone got any software recommendations? I've got Hokuto No Ken on the PS2 and because its supposedly a faithful port I will stick with that.

Any help / suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated! :D

Thanks in advance

No & some HD sets don’t accept the signal 480p siginal from the AW mobo
How would they look on a normal telly?
Imo Downscaled looks better than upscaled. It’ll look fine, just not as vibrant or as crisp as it could be. I’m running mine on a pc monitor at the mo.
Also does the atomiswave unit require its own power supply or is it a case of just plugging it into the supergun?
It takes it’s power over the jamma connector, so it will be fine running on a SG
Has anyone got any software recommendations?
I’d recommend them in this order
HNK
KOFXI
RF2
GGX1.5
RF1 – If you’ve not got RF2
NGBC
KOV – it’s actually a pretty good side scrolling beat em up
….
….
Dolphin Blue as a curiosity
GG Ikusa at a push, just to see why they include a button to turn around.

I’ve not played MS6 or SS Tenka, so can’t comment.
I've got Hokuto No Ken on the PS2 and because its supposedly a faithful port will stick with that.
Hmmm. HNK is THE game you want on the Atomiswave honestly
Any help / suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated! :D
Try to hook it up to a 31k monitor. HNK looks fantastic in it’s hi res glory

I wish they had done something similar with SF.
