Re: Horizontal Shmups
Boogie Wings / The Great Ragtime Show - comical steampunk themed game R-Type Leo - nice continuation of the series. Get's tough as nails (like you were expecting an R-Type game to do something else, heh). Hacha Mecha Fighter - cute animal piloted game Orodyne - classic Namco fair. I really like it, ...

Wow, nice set, Neo_Arcadia! http://www.neo-arcadia.de/cps1.JPG Is this the factory shipping box for the set? And it came w/ all 3 items (system, stick, game)? I see the listing on the box, but I was just curious :D Your avatar is awful, btw (I doubt many people picked up on the reference)! -ud

Re: Xbox 360 RROD/general failure thread
Still on my first unit, which is a 1st gen JP system. To be fair, though, it sees very little play. I did do a mod to alleviate some physical stress on the GPU/CPU, though:

@ Celestein please do keep us updated after you have your scene up and running. It sounds like you've done a fair amount of "market research," but I'm really curious to see this thing concept-to-reality.

Nice database! Never heard of it! Thanks! Was this constructed from the ground up or did they get their list from KLOV? I ask because neither KLOV nor PCBDB have an entry for Dyna Gear, which I just picked upemphatic wrote:http://www.pcbdb.net anyone?

Re: Have you ever thought of quitting your job and…
I've thought about this, too, but honestly, I think it'd be more realistic to do something like this when you are retired. You will be lucky to make enough money running an arcade just to keep the doors open, let alone make a profit. If you were retired you could just enjoy running the place rather ...

Re: WTF Edward Randy: The Cliffhanger (Data East PCB)
Unless you can find Edward Randy for $200 or less, it's totally not worth it. Like Skykid mentioned, the whip mechanics are wonky, at best, and there are some levels that are just terrible design (Jeep stage anyone?). If you want an amazing DE PCB that's actually worth playing alot and something to ...

Martial Champions. For the unfamiliar, it's Konami's pale attempt at a SFII knock-off. Got it for like $12 SHIPPED and was still horribly disappointed.

Taito F3 PCB's
I realize not all of you frequent the hardware section of the shmups forum, so I thought I'd toss this helpful piece of arcade knowledge out here, too:
