Re: Bangai-O Spirits

Tried the Japanese release, got through a bunch of levels then got utterly stumped on one. I suspect the english one might have some hints :)

Those dims are either from flyers (priority) or owners. They're about as accurate as you can get :)

Re: Best. Handheld. Ever.

Heh, I'm about ready to sell my PSP, DS, and regular GBA SP. Just need to remember to do it when I'm at home and can take photos.

The backlit SP is wonderful though, can't see me selling it at all.

Re: Whats the worst arcade game you own?

Umm, Gold Medalist. But it's great, even though I need to make up an adapter to reconfigure the controls. I don't keep crap games.

Re: Best. Handheld. Ever.

It's massive, even bigger with the battery pack attached, and gets a few hours tops out of a set of 6 AA's. Exactly, which is why I said it is useless. But *IF* it had come out in 2008 it would be using current technology. Therefore it would be much smaller and efficient. IF... it was a pipe dream....

Re: Best. Handheld. Ever.

If only the nomad had come out in 2008 it would've been fantastic - tiny, plays md games and long batterylife. Unfortunately it came out 15yrs too early and was pretty useless. !??!?!?! :? :? :? What Nomad are you on about?! It's massive, even bigger with the battery pack attached, and gets a...

Re: Best. Handheld. Ever.

I actually owned 99% of the clamshell games (with English cover priority) for the NGP(C).

The few I didn't get were Evolution (jungle.com never got it in), Cotton, Cool Boarders and that wrestling title.

Had to spend my student loan on something

Best. Handheld. Ever.

There have been plenty of handheld consoles too. What's your favourite? I have a hard time deciding between the NGP, GB, and GBA SP. The GB - it's utterly iconic, had massive battery life, masses of games, and was built to last. The NGP - 90% of the titles are utterly brilliant, great battery, the b...

Re: Intel Atom

Yeah I still want to see the results.

The slowest machine I've tried current MAME on is a PIII 800, and it's fine on everything I want to play as long as no graphical effects are enabled - no stretch, overlays etc. This is SDLMAME on Linux framebuffer.

Re: The All New "What Games Are You Playing?" Thread

Finally picked up a GBA SP Mk II (Brighter!) cheaply. Swapped the guts and various parts with my old SP so I now have a 100% black one.

And have been playing Pinball Challenge Deluxe again :)

Bang on.

I have as much fun screwing around in SA as I do in SSX3, just that same feeling of laid back total control lushness. :D

Re: Sonic Unleashed

Last one I played was Sonic Heroes and it was pure crap. The DS ones have been alright. But that. That looks stunning. Everything that was right about the Sonic levels in Sonic Adventure multiplied tenfold. It's gorgeous , massive, smooth with a beautiful sense of speed. Loved SA... really t...
