Re: 6 buttons on Taito Egret 2

It's hard to say but that looks more like an CPS2 adaptor for a cabinet that is wired for six buttons from the JAMMA edge. They're simple to make though. You just need a pass-through adaptor and a [ Hirose DF1B ] connector wired to the [ CPS2 Kick pinout ] < check the table half way down. The E2 wir...

Re: Super Nintardbros!

Playing Hollow Knight at the moment. Bought it on PC ages ago but I didn't give it enough chance and sacked it off. Started it on Switch again and I'm loving it. I'm about 20hrs in at the moment. Frame rate is a bit poop in water sections and tbh it seems worse in docked mode which is strange as I t...

Re: Searching for files to lasercut a marquee holder

Apologies for the delay. I've uploaded it as a .dxf [here]. Let me know if you need a different file type.

There's a couple of other marquee files in there too.

Re: Wiring two cabinets for back to back play

As you've found, multi-core cable is always hard to find in the configuration you want in small cable runs and at non exorbitant prices. I would just 'roll your own' cable config and use flexible braiding/sleeving/wrap to keep it neat and tidy. For 15K JAMMA stuff I've just split the signal (using 2...

Re: I'm currently playing:

There are a few frame rate drops here and there,I wouldn't call them massive though and certainly not enough for it not to be hugely enjoyable in my opinion. Motion Twin are looking to optimise the game further though

Great isn't it. Gets hard as nails but so much fun. I'm not normally a fan of random/procedurally generated games but it really works for this game. SCSI2SD would be my choice too. You should be able to mount that to the CPS3 mobo fairly easily as it's much lighter.

Re: reset a pcb without shutting down the cab

https://electronicmercenary.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/117e-toggle-me.jpg DPDT = Double Pole, Double Throw. Basically it's two ON-ON switches connected together. As only one of each side of the switch is wired up it acts a dual ON-OFF switch. When the switch is in one position both 5v and 12v are ...

Its a DPDT switch so I thought it wouldn't hurt to wire up and switch 12v off at the same time.

Re: reset a pcb without shutting down the cab

As nem said, you need to switch all 5v pins at once. I made something similar for my STV multi prior to the auto-reset firmware being released. Before that you had to power cycle the game board and I didn't like powering the monitor off/on unnecessarily. https://photos.smugmug.com/Wiring/n-q62gc/i-3...
