Re: Hotd 2 ?

Sold empty cab And gun pedestal. I have other Naomi 1/2 mobo For other gun games I understand NetBoot Don’t run hotd 2 ? Is this correct ? Not even close to the best maintenance job imo. Wish you did something about that projector. You probably weren't aware Hotd2 ran on an earlier Naomi motherboar...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Ball bearing fans have real ball bearings in them, I don't really see how these can shed metal bits. Sleeve bearings on the other side is just a brass jacket which holds a vanadium coated axis which is lubricated with mineral oil and use rubber O-rings to keep it from vibrating. Real crappy stuff. ...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Unfortunately it's nearly pointless trying to diagnose hardware this new, all custom, surface mount etc. Depends on the hardware but I wouldn't even call it pointless. Sega Hikarus are far worse to diagnose due to the fragility of that hardware (those BGA custom chips that are a bit easy to break)....

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

The serial will be on test pads unfortunately there is no diagram for the arcade boards. There are diagrams for the regular PS2s, though. I hope someone knows how to repair these. It's threads like this that make me concerned on emulation for any Namco System 2X6. I am not the best with this hardwa...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Fan on the removed board was ****, rust everywhere. Sounds like a place to start (I mentioned the fan issue earlier). I forgot what the inside of an early rev System 246, A or B, looks like. Rev C onwards combined both the Namco and PS2 boards into one. I'd replace the fan and clean/reseat the pcbs...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Already put a new one on, measures good and the pedestal lights up now at least. I need to drill the lock on the right side unfortunately to have a look there. Apparently a bad dongle can cause this too - so I need to get a known good one of those too. Missed the new power supply part. It's extreme...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Where's the serial port, can I get a cable or diagram anywhere? I just ordered 2x motherboard only and 2x full 246C rack from HKlegend. Hopefully I can fix my racks as well as having spares after all of this. New PSUs, new racks. Should have bought a new machine. The drive in the side I've been abl...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

http://www.twistedquarter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=521_525&products_id=2546 Here is something else I can find at least for a good price. Twistedquarter did state this PSU is usable in Time Crisis 3. 44-1090-02 is the part name to be exact (I think the IMP prefix doesn't matter). Th...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

My link does indeed show the same product (250v psu). I call it the box type power supply. The skinny one/Peter Chou one supplies power to the guns. This seller you linked too probably isn't even good with arcade machines (he has a lot of stuff listed that probably won't get sold for a long time or ...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

I forgot what type of PSU this specific TC3 cabinet uses because this is basically two single cabinets meaning they use a PSU (I prefer the Japanese cabinet and the twin TC2 where both pcbs are powered by one power supply). Something like this perhaps? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NAMCO-CRISIS-ZONE-NINJ...

Re: Time Crisis 3 needs fixing..

Most likely a mix of bad main power supplies and some dirty fans. If the fans are that bad, I would replace them. I'm thinking you are working with the export twin Time Crisis 3 where both cabinets are separate. Did you ever replace the main power supply on the left side?

did you try store mode?
I did end up trying store mode yesterday and caused some results not suitable for an arcade environment (showing some info about the product). My only options are now wire modding or replacing the monitor/TV entirely.

Sanyo FW32D25T in a Ghost Squad SD

First off, the cabinet was acquired with this TV/Monitor installed and the previous owner cut the sides of the bezel to fit the TV. I will admit it was a bit of a pain to set up on their end but I am starting to appreciate that beautiful image. One last problem I have yet to solve is having that TV ...

Re: Initial D Arcade Stage 3 Twin; powering on the slave cabinet

Update: Turns out the unit in the slave machine won't boot and found the problem to be a bad gpu fan (any Sega Naomi related hardware has a safety mechanism that the machine won't boot if even one fan doesn't respond). Time to hunt for a replacement. Any good recommendations? I also ask if the slave...

Initial D Arcade Stage 3 Twin; powering on the slave cabinet

I have previously worked on a ID3 twin cabinet at a local arcade. At first, me and a few others (seemingly) got the twin cab wirings together and only the master cabinet would fully power on. The slave cab would have a few lights power on but it's impossible to determine the situation. The master ca...

Re: Where to buy main ram (106 ,107) for Naomi 2?

Oh snap I am late to the party. The better question is if this type of ram is still in production or not. By the way, I hope you know how to replace surface mounted components because that requires a very steady hand and patience.

Sega Chihiro Type 3 won't save game settings.

I am currently working on a Ghost Squad arcade machine that uses a Type 3 Chihiro system meaning the dimm board is integrated inside. Currently having issues with saving game settings on shutting down system which lead to other issues depending on the game. In Ghost Squad's case, I had trouble with ...

Hydreigon here.

I have been on Klov for quite a while in suggesting some "modern classic" arcade stuff and then found out on this site which contains a lot of that. Looking forward to this. Currently own a twin Time Crisis 2. Everything but the monitors are in fine condition now.
