Re: Astro City MS9-29S monitor turning itself off

Will disassemble monitor and check for bad joints and the remote board today or tomorrow.

Where is the vertical deflection ic located, and where can I buy a spare?

Re: Astro City MS9-29S monitor turning itself off

Tube is marked MS9 29S so its not MS8.

I see a white thin horizontal line in the middle of the screen just before it turns off.

Astro City MS9-29S monitor turning itself off

I plugged in my Astro City again today, after three years of it residing in storage, and now the monitor doesn't seem to like me. When I turn on the machine, the monitor turns on for a few seconds, and then turns itself off. If I turn off the power and then turn it back on again quickly, nothing hap...

I use one of these for PS2-controllers.

Look up neo-geo pinouts to see how to get the individual signals from them, it's pretty easy.

Cool!
I actually haven't hooked up a test switch to my adapter. It's on my todo-list as well, but it's not really a priority :)

Re: how turd is this?

I use the custom-made adapter approach as well (that was what I meant with rewiring, although I guess I could have been more specific). I'm currently using a rather ugly 3.5" adapter to the headphone pins of the motherboard, but I haven't really tried getting audio through the supergun. Guess I'll ...

Re: how turd is this?

I run the same set-up (4-slot MVS through the Vogatek), but made a simple MVS to JAMMA adapter instead of modifying the supergun itself. Did you modify yours to convert the stereo sound output from the MVS to mono (so that it runs through the supergun), by the way? I wired up a stereo 3.5" jack to ...

Re: how turd is this?

I have the first version of this supergun and it works wonderfully. I currently have it hooked up to my 4slot neo geo. Since the 4slot has controller ports, the lack of 4button support on the supergun is a non-issue for me. I did have to do some minor rewiring to get proper sound though. Also, it di...
