Re: recommeded horizontal shooters?

Isn't Mars Matrix actually yoko? Horizontally orientated game that plays vertically?

If so, +1 for Mars Matrix, absolutely great game.

And is Radiant Silvergun truly yoko / horizontal? I always thought it was Tate

Blast City + VGA+ PSU Load Question

Hey Guys, Whats the proper way to run a vga (DC / 360 ) input into the Blast City(ms2931)? I have noticed with a Jamma board plugged in and something plugged into the vga port, the picture is all wavy, but as soon as I unplug the Jamma board everything is fine. I have been told in the past and with ...

Re: Stupid Blast City Bezel Question

The bezel aligns fine, its just the way the bottom latches work is they are pull down tabs, that you release when the bezel is completely seated. Eh I will mess with it more tonight and see what I can figure out. I am pretty sure however the monitor is seated correctly.

Stupid Blast City Bezel Question

Hey Guys, Picked up a Blast City recently, and I asked the seller to rotate the monitor and thus the Bezel to Tate orientation. Thing is, I have noticed that the bezel does not sit flush at the bottom of the cabinet. His solution was some electrical tape and cardboard spacers :wtf: Doing some resear...

Re: Dodonpachi sound and screen

Maybe i am crazy, but I thought I remembered reading that the Cave titles for some reason did not confirm to normal tate standards displayed upside down compared to other tate games. And this would require either re-rotating your monitor or more easily flipping the horizontal / vertical cables on th...

Re: Blast City depth without the CP?

Just took a quick measurement of mine. The blast city has an odd shaped sloping back panel but it looks like your largest depth with CP removed is around 70 centimeters.

Awesome thanks guys! Looks like another candy cab will be joining the household, the 'missus' is gonna kill me :awe:

Spectre, you are probably right about the date mixup from the seller, good call.

*Bump*

Finally got a picture back from the seller. So assuming this is picture is legit, we have confirmation on a ms2931, yes?

Help me identify this Monitor / Chassis (Nanao ms2931?)

Hi Guys, I received some pictures from a seller in a cab I am interested in. Can you confirm from either of these pictures that this IS or is NOT a Nanao MS2931? The numbers on the chassis seem to line up with OtokonoZenyou's unboxing of the MS2931, but the seller is telling me the manufacture date ...

Any major difference on picture quality? Or are they pretty equal in that regards?

Re: Confused on Tube vs Chasis discrepancies

Got it, thanks guys. That makes more sense now.

Is there then also a desired set of CRT Tube manufacturers? I assume the Tube itself must also make a difference in overall quality.

Confused on Tube vs Chasis discrepancies

Really basic question here, that I would like to get clarified since I seem to be confusing myself. :wtf: Looked at a couple of available Candy Cabs recently, both had Wei Ya chasis, but one had a LG / Philips Tube, and the other had a Samsung Tube. Is this factory normal, or are these both Tube rep...

Re: Looking to buy a cab or three....

I know a lot of people have high praise for Matsu, and I am sure on most occasions he is a great seller, but I do want to point out that one of the cabs I got from him was not all I was hoping. I ordered an Egret 3 from him a couple of years back, but it ended up being a hastily done re-convert of a...

Re: AWSD Sound issues

Hi everyone. Today I received the 100v stepdown and I can confirm that all the sound issues have cleared up. +12v is stable. To reiterate, I would advise sticking to the 100v stepdown with an AWSD as the PSU is obviously fussy. Phew! :) Dave Wow this is really interesting.. Having lived through it ...

Re: AWSD Sound issues

As mentioned earlier, I had a similar problem and ended up ripping apart my cab piece by piece trying to isolate the fluctuating 12volt problem. The 12volt would test steady without a load, but as soon as a board was plugged in it would go nuts. I went through weeks of tests, replacing the marquee l...

You can get them from Taito directly, but they require a minimum purchase cost when ordering, so you would need to order some other items as well. I just got some replacements for my cabs a few weeks back.

Re: E2 PSU in an AWSD

Did the Egret 2 support +5V through the PSU? Or no?

There are some old Taito boards (Cadash, etc) I would love to play but both my AWSD and E3 do not support the +5volt so I am out of luck
