I was to buy a Framemeister myself but then I heard about OSSC in shmups forum. Here is the online shop for it.

Re: Framemeister mini

Really? It looks like an interesting device, but the 720p mode sounds like a proper ballache judging by fudoh's site. If i understand it correct it's not a scaler, and 720p only works on 240p sources using some trickery that makes the signal incompatible with most TV's. Don't get me wrong, it sound...

The OSSC for 720p is the best because it has a quality of 4:4:4 instead of 4:2:2 of the FM. Additionally OSSC has zero lag in 720p which is great. The wifi in 480p looks superb while in FM is not so good

Re: Naomi 2 super capacitor leak

I did a successful operation with baking soda yesterday. I put some soda without water at the point with the acid and then I dropped some water on the soda. It started to seethe and have some small bubbles by itself! I used a smal hard brush and made sure water and soda were mixed very good arround ...

Great, I will do this on PGM too.

Thanks a lot

Framemeister mini

Hi,
I am thinking to buy a framemeister mini to replace my Sony crt. How many of you are happy with it for more than three years since it is out? Are you happy with the lag? Which games have mostly problems with it? Shmups?
Have you replaced your crts or you have a combination?

Re: Naomi 2 super capacitor leak

Can run fine without the Supercap. I have a Naomi2 that had the same issue...except I had more traces damaged. Chanelmanic over at the KLOV forums had to use some super fine filament wire and fix 4 or 5 traces, but now it works great. No supercap replacement in it. If it boots, awesome. There maybe...

Re: Naomi 2 super capacitor leak

I opened the Naomi 2 and located the super capacitor which btw had already leaked through its negative leg. I removed it and cleaned the place with isopropyl alcohol. Unfortunately the negative leg had its trace corrupted from acid and it couldn't leave the hole open after desoldering, for a new fut...

Naomi 2 & Namco 256 super capacitor leak or possible leak

Hi guys, I finally own a Naomi 2 with VF4E and I would like to know known issues for this Sega system to avoid unnecessary surprises. I had read somewhere that a big cap inside the system is prone to leak. Is this true? If yes what's the solution to this? I also have read that there is an internal b...

Re: Help with a Naomi 2 setting up

SUN PSU would be good, but you can also use an ATX PSU, but will need to get a power-loom to give you the JST power connectors required. Just re-read your 1st post - Audio (red & white RCA) are on the Naomi Motherboard, so you will need to connect those to a suitable amp, or go the Capcom IO route ...

Re: Help with a Naomi 2 setting up

Thank you guys,
So I either need a Capcom I/o or a SUN PSU. Correct?

Then the same setup, either one, can do the job for a Namco system 256?

Re: Help with a Naomi 2 setting up

What cab are you using? You'll probably better off with a Capcom I/O which will sort your power and audio amplification. Thanks for your reply, I have a sigma Raijin supergun. About audio I will probably connect directly to a sound amp. I would prefer a Capcom io solution though but not a big deal....

Re: Have I won the lottery? - No

Pics aren't working right now but I am sure I spotted more then one repair ! How do usualy those pcbs fail? Lifespan of chips end, it is more voltage applied or physical damage? A bit of both - storage conditions, humidity, chips sometimes just die. That's very depressing if you have a lot of pcbs ...
