Re: Panasonic SI78JUA29X Tube

Don't even know. I only have that pic. Just figured I'd ask since some candies have Panasonic tubes and there's a 29 in that model #.

Little bit of a necro on an old topic. I have noticed I have nearly stopped using AO altogether since I started using tapatalk, and my usage of shmups has increased because it's so easy. So +1 to tapatalk support.

Panasonic SI78JUA29X Tube

This Panasonic SI78JUA29X tube came up locally. Is it compatible with a Nanao chassis or what?

That's awesome! Although I'm not sure why a gamecenter wants a stage/loop select.

Re: Marquee Group Order (Uni/Blast, NAC, Egret)

Got mine today! Spectre your marquee is every bit as good as the original. Looks great! I realized now the blast city adds it's own black border, making the one on the marquee redundant, but a NNC would need it. Very happy!

Re: Not a Lost Art: Arcade Game ROM Hacking

Arcade hacks are awesome. I've always wanted to hack San Francisco Rush. For one I want to drive the white car. And then I want to be able to do all the N64 cheats they added like low gravity or night mode (black fog, which is played during attract mode too). And play my own music. Practice modes fo...

MARQUEE ORDER: 1) BlastOriginal-A 2) NEW DESIGN REQUEST: DDP DOJ Tamashii converted to Blast size. The original marquee is too big. Just need the black border adjusted to the shape of the Blast. http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y406/spectre_uk/th_DDPDOJTamashii-A_zps330a9b25.jpg DDPDOJTamashii-A...

Re: HOW TO: Capcom Impress swap Hitachi GML for MS9-29 chass

Yes the power goes through the amp up. The advantage is that it's simpler to go through that, no technical reason.

I didn't ground the remote board, but none of my games remote boards are specially grounded, including an egret ii with the same monitor/remote board.

Re: Candy cabs - How does one restore the plastic's brightne

I guess I would just say that this is probably evidence that using greater than 10-12% peroxide may be harmful, as described on http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/Problems+and+Pitfalls" although they didn't encounter the dust problem. They also recommended against leaving it out for too long and that...

Re: Candy cabs - How does one restore the plastic's brightne

A few things *) If 100" means 100% peroxide, that's stronger than what retr0bright is usually made with. I use 40vol which is only 12%. *) if you didn't add oxy it's not quite what retr0bright is supposed to be. The way I understand, oxy is a key ingredient. Glycerin and Xanthan gum are just thicken...

Re: Candy cabs - How does one restore the plastic's brightne

What coin door? what are you talking about?, I have never tried to retrobright any of my cabs. And yes, yellowing is caused by the anti-flame compound found on ABS and plastic based paints. I mentioned doors because even on a plastic cab, they are usually metal, and usually yellow just the same as ...

Re: Candy cabs - How does one restore the plastic's brightne

IMO, the best way to eliminate yellowing from candy cabs is "avoid buying cabinets made of plastic", what all of this "retrobright" methods never tell you is that removing yellowing will make the plastic more brittle and it will crack over time. You have broken candies from retr0bright? I've tried ...

Re: Candy cabs - How does one restore the plastic's brightne

Ah, I've been waiting for an excuse to post this pic. I took apart my Impress for retr0bright a couple weeks ago. If I were to do it again, I'd definitely take ALL of the electronics out. The pieces that were just plastic were so easy to hose off. The results were satisfactory, considering I only ha...

Re: HOW TO: Capcom Impress swap Hitachi GML for MS9-29 chass

Did you remove the female part of the video header from the GML chassis and put in on the MS-9. The video connector you have showing didnt fit my MS-9 chassis. I never got around to wiring the degauss button. I think all you need to do is wire it to power and add a switch. No I created that adapter...

Re: HOW TO: Capcom Impress swap Hitachi GML for MS9-29 chass

I don't really see any difference, but I haven't logged much time on it yet. The thing I was mildly surprised with is that it came up looking perfect right off the bat, with no adjustments. I had expected to adjust RGB cut off/gains because I thought the green gun in the Toshiba tube was weak, but I...

HOW TO: Capcom Impress swap Hitachi GML for MS9-29 chassis

Why? In my case, the flyback on my Hitachi GML chassis was going bad. Here is a video where you can hear the flyback buzzing and see artifacts on the picture: https://www.hasntfiguredouthowtoembedyoutubeproperly.com/watch?v=qIdz8hD2tUI" The GML chassis is uncommon compared to the MS9, so it's harde...
