Have you plugged in the AC wires from the 15-pin AMP UP connector to the chassis? Take a pic of the chassis as it is wired now.

Oh I see. In that case wire up jamma SPK+ to converter SPK+, and jamma SPK- to converter SPK-. You can actually leave out ground altogether.

Re: looking for a nice member that can build me a few cable :)

You could easily make these yourself.

The connector is JST VH:

http://www.jst-mfg.com/product/detail_e.php?series=262

You need five 3-pin housings and 10 female pins. You can order these straight from JST. Then just cut the ends of some IEC-C14 extension cords and crimp on the connectors.

Re: Capturing JAMMA video and audio from New Astro City

Audio is easy, just wire up SPK+ and GND to a passive high to low converter. If you wanted, you could make this yourself on some breadboard. Just copy Tim Worthington's schematic from here: https://etim.net.au/av-driver/arcade/ How are you handling video? You need to attenuate that as well before pu...

OK, that's really neat. Might actually finish off Faselei with a screen that you don't have to hold under a desktop lamp.

Re: exA-Arcadia

In what country? I'm not seeing Vewlixes below around $1400 in the USA. The discussion was about Japanese game centers. The markup on imported Vewlixes is, let's say, generous. Surely it's just a USB memory stick. Apparently not USB. Likely either a mSATA or M.2 SATA SSD stick. https://en.wikipedia...

Still so many 15kHz cabinets in japans arcade centers and no priority on CRT? I dont get it.
The ones that just have 15kHz cabs more than likely aren't buying new games.

Also, you can now get a used Vewlix cheaper than you can get a working Astro or Blast, so there's really no point.

Yeah, it does look like there's a jump button.

The walking animations need work and the character portraits are pretty dire. Overall it's looking very good though. Colour me impressed.

Re: MS9-29T component identification

It's a high voltage polypropylene capacitor.

The marking on it seems to read 103J2KV, which I think deciphers to:

103J = 10000pf or 10nf or 0.01uf
2KV = 2000V

Maybe someone can confirm.

TL:DR; can i burn bb5 directly to a 27c512?
What did you do here? Did you double up the rom? If you didn't, try that.

This is easily done with command prompt in Windows:

copy /b bb5.rom + bb5.rom bb5_512.rom

The Astro City uses a 10 plug TE Amp connector whilst the Naomi Universal (and all subsequent cabs of that shape) uses a 15 plug TE Amp connector.
There's an adapter available to use an older kick harness on Naomi Universal / Net City, so it's not that big of a deal. The pinout is just different.

I don't know, 26" is somewhat common in the arcade space. Aero City has a 26" Nanao. Older wooden Sega sitdown cabs also have these, like Daytona USA, Sega Rally and Wing War. Certain era Midway racing games all have 26" Wells Gardners, like Cruis'n USA and Hydro Thunder. However, these have Philips...
