Re: Naomi 2 mobo - black screen and nothing else... HELP

The satellite daughter boards look like this : http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1179/dscn0768a.th.jpg The PCB is identical to a regular netdimm daughterboard except they don't populate the GDROM connector or corresponding altera FPGA. As a possible solution to your original problem , you have checke...

Re: The G.I. Joe PCB I lent to IC09 is ****

Not to belittle your input poolchamp and FrancoB but your observations aren't exactly based on anything informative. http://a.imagehost.org/0957/GI.jpg This is the part in question. As i assumed before it handles the coin counters (or CVNTs in this case :) ). Whats causing your board to exhibit the ...

Re: The G.I. Joe PCB I lent to IC09 is ****

(EDIT: for future reference, what is this type of chip called? Anything in particular?) They are usually referred to as a "Hybrid" and yeah , the damn konami ones have a canny knack of falling off at the slightest mouse fart. They are usually made up of a mixture of surface mount components and are...

Re: Bubble Bobble Bootleg info

The 68705 will be a large 40 pin DIL chip somewhere on the same pcb as the Z80's

Any pics you could snap of it would be great, ill add them to the blog if you can.

Re: Bubble Bobble Bootleg info

With an equally cunning plan, i now aim to buy up all the available bootleg BB's , upgrade them and sell them to the unsuspecting arcade pcb loving masses at a huge profit. Using a replacement MCU hand sanded and repainted with a tip-ex dragon by Angolan wage slaves of course  On an equally ser...

Re: Bubble Bobble Bootleg info

Erm , maybe this would be ok then ;) http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/4813/bubx.jpg As an owner of multiple original boards i can only hazard a guess that something like this makes you feel they may be devalued in some way ? My idea was never to go into full scale production of a massive Bubble Bo...

Re: Bubble Bobble Bootleg info

They are all pretty much the same code tbh , Bobble Bobble is the one with a hacked title screen to remove the copyright info and replaces a couple of tiles to change the logo. Super BB seems to be pretty much the same but with super mode on by default. It'd be nice to clarify which usually appear o...

Bubble Bobble Bootleg info

As part of an ongoing tinkering of mine , i was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info. Specifically i am looking for someone with a type of Bubble Bobble bootleg that isn't already pictured here http://mrsportysrb.blogspot.com/ , a bootleg which contains a 68705 would be great. Thanks...

Re: Boot or Original : Post original/bootleg PCB photos here.

Thats not a suicide battery, its just a large radial polarised cap for the sound amp.

And as strange as it seems , that C Board appears to be a mixture of an original Capcom IC on board a bootlegged PCB.

Re: STV woes part 2 – Radiant Silvergun cart

Just remove the 2x screws from the reverse of the case and the two halves will just lift apart. Its pretty much identical to how a snes cart opens up.

Re: Happy Fish 302 in 1

For the more technically inclined its not actually an FPGA on the Happy fish PCB's, it's a Samsung ARM9 SOC very similar to: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arm9-S3C2440-Dev-Board-with-NEC-3-5-touch-screen_W0QQitemZ220376059872QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item220376059872 Running at around 500Mh...

Re: STV woes part 1 – STV motherboard problems.

Its not that hard to get a working STV, the problem lies in the fact that it's not that hard to get a flakey one either :( From my own experience , the SH2 cpu thats located in one of the corners of the pcb seems to be the one that takes a bit of stick at times. Sega obviously never designed these P...

Re: STV woes part 1 – STV motherboard problems.

By the sounds of it , most people have had similar problems and are staying well clear :P

I must admit , my own mobo was a clunker that i managed to fix up by swapping out one of the TSOP drams from an old sega saturn so their track record doesn't seem too crash hot.

Re: STV woes part 2 – Radiant Silvergun cart

You are 100% sure that the RSG cart you have isn't a boot ? Pop the screws and take some snaps of the carts pcb if you can, at least if it isn't then you can give the edge connector a damn good clean. I know my own ST-V mobo can be pretty picky when it comes to certain carts, but as you posted you u...

Any B board can be converted to run progear.

Some will need a replacement GFX/Sound decoder PAL and some also require an extra wire to patch in the highest address line of the sound roms.

Re: CPS2 Japanese test menus

Just a quick addendum , it might also be 7-1-6 , some games slot the "Chute" option further up the list thus pusing the sound option down one.
