Re: TP2 on MS9-29

I tried that with no luck...
The horizontal movement decreases as I lower the contrast/brightness though.
Just to mention, a capkit has been done about a month ago.

Re: TP2 on MS9-29

I do have a problem with a TGM2Plus PCB. The image moves horizontally by a few pixels every 3-4 seconds.
This is the only PCB showing this behavior and when tested in another cab or supergun, the image is stable.

Re: TP2 on MS9-29

Yes, I was aware of that, but the information I'm looking for is what these test points are supposed to measure on an MS9. After some testing, it looks like TP2 could be related to B+. I measured 82V on that point and the B+ pot directly affects its value. Could someone confirm that TP2 is used for ...

Re: TP2 on MS9-29

Thanks for the reply, but that's what I mentioned in my initial post... I know it's a test point, but I can't seem to find any documentation about it.

Does anyone know what can actually be tested with it?

TP2 on MS9-29

Hi,

Could anyone tell me what TP2 (or I guess Test Point 2) is used for on a MS9-29?

Thank you in advance!

Re: MS9-29A unstable picture on right side

Problem solved it was a leaky cap that I hadn't seen first. C955 was replaced and the screen was perfect again.

Hope it might help you Shadolf, it might just be a leaky cap like me.

Re: MS9-29A unstable picture on right side

I've tried to film it but it's impossible to clearly see the issue when using a phone. It's a subtle jitter that doesn't seem to be visible when filmed, but when you're sitting in front of the cab it's very annoying. In order to discard other possible factors, today I used a UPS to power the cab and...

MS9-29A unstable picture on right side (Solved)

Hi, I've finally decided to have a look at my MS9 problem: the picture is slightly vibrating/jittering horizontally on the right half of the screen. Quite annoying with text and still images. The left half is perfectly stable. I've tried the obvious: In case it was interference: -Unplug bulb/ballast...

Takahashi Meijin used to hold that record during the 80s with the famous 16 presses per second... ;)

MS9 29 Jumpy/unstable while warming up

Hi, After 4 years without a single problem, my MS9-29 is showing a small problem: The first 5 minutes, while warming up, the center of the screen is slightly jumpy/unstable. This is particularly noticeable on text, actually not so much in game. I could just ignore it, but since it appeared recently ...

From my experience this is not a plug&play solution... RKLOK has supply, fair prices on Astros and ships all over Europe. But there's some stuff you'll have to go over when you get the cab (controls, screen, etc.).

Re: Original Astro Speaker upgrade

I'm also interested in an Astro City speaker replacement that is not the SBS52, since they are difficult to find in Europe and expensive to import if you find them elsewhere. I actually found these speakers a couple of weeks ago: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-inch-4-ohm-8-ohm-15W-full-range-speak...

Re: Interferences with a Garegga PCB on a MS9-29

By the way, I was wondering what I'm risking (if anything at all) when bridging ground on the jamma connector and the frame ground?

I'm not planning to have this as a permanent solution, but only when plugging in Garegga.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Interferences with a Garegga PCB on a MS9-29

It did work by bridging ground on the Jamma harness and frame ground!

No more lines and a perfectly looking picture.

Strange though that only this PCB is affected by the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Re: Interferences with a Garegga PCB on a MS9-29

I tried bridging video ground and ground, but it didn't help...

I checked the frame ground on the PSU, but there's nothing coming out of it... Is it really worth it cabling the frame ground on the PSU for this kind of problem?

Interferences with a Garegga PCB on a MS9-29

Hi, I'm getting very light interferences on an MS9-29 (Egret2) when plugging a Battle Garegga PCB. This is especially visible on the title screen and uniform backgrounds and looks like some kind of jitter we had on CRT TVs when the analog reception wasn't 100% synced. I tried the same PCB on another...

Re: Astro City MS8 screen geometry issue

But doesn't the fact that I manage to get a full size picture when playing with the vsync pot mean that I still have a chance to solve my problem by doing a cap kit (or something else)? The problem wasn't there a month ago and the screen was more than fine imho... And that leads me to think that it ...
