Re: 1944 and 19XX - two awesome shmups on CPS 2

When I made the transition from emulation to jamma 19XX was on my very short list of games I'd want to own, it's incredible. It has one of my favorite soundtracks in the genre, something I can listen to outside of actually playing the game. Haven't played 1944 beyond a few credits and knew I could p...

Re: Noob trying to rotate NAC monitor first time

I forgot one thing, at 9min:30sec in the youtube video, he rotates the monitor "frame" (black part around monitor". Many screws and quite annoying... this is one thing i like about blast city, it just pops in/out in 10 seconds.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Here is a video I found after making this makeshift guide, definitely worth a watch... https://www.hasntfiguredouthowtoembedyoutubeproperly.com/watch?v=j3t4yYGIXEc This will start you off, it is recommended to have a friend present your first time: Unscrew: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/488654...

What kinda hardcore arcade gamer are you :lolno:

It's a model that might work for arcades and the odd collector who wants the newest releases.

Cool that it even exists in 2019.

Re: You've Got Grail! The Valuation Thread

A lot of the "worth" depends on condition and location. If that was on the east coast I could see it selling over $1000.
It's an uncommon version of the super neo, the upper LCD screen is awesome. If it works and you really like the cab go for it!

So why 3000$ on Yahoo instead 600 as you mean ?
My guess is people use alt accounts to 'buy' their own games for thousands to inflate prices :problem:

Re: So apple arcade

Even though I didn't play enough of it, ChuChu was a gem on DC. I'm surprised it never made its way to other consoles (maybe GBA had a version, so I suppose it was playable on gamecube too). Reminded me of a childhood favorite, Lemmings. That update for ChuChu looks amazing btw :awe:

Re: How do you store your bare pcb?

Nice suicider, I wish I had a shelf like that.

I probably have one of the worst looking storage solutions, rest of the hallway is littered with old TVs I need to dump and other junk I'm too lazy to get rid of

Re: New Astro City Joystick mounting

Can you take a pic of your actual CP so we can recommend the correct mount plates?

I'm a little confused if you are saying the sanwa https://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-jlf-p ... ing-plate/ won't fit, because the image of the CP you posted is compatible.

These might work for seimitsu, thought the stick might sit a little lower than it should. https://paradisearcadeshop.com/home/hardware/mounting-plates/paradise-universal-plates/1278_universal-s-arcade-joystick-adapter-plate I think you will be better off with Sanwa sticks with this plate: https://ww...

Re: How do you store your bare pcb?

I personally wouldn't store a tiny PCB in a giant box, just for the sake of it matching the rest of your boxes... nor would I bother using anti static foam/bubble wrap on a cartridge that's already in a plastic shell. I guess you have to ask yourself what the goal is, building a collection of games ...

Re: Xbox 360 in an Astro City?

Yes, the slowdown is intentional, though on PCB it's technically caused by hardware limitations iirc. The ports try to best replicate it, though in the end often have slightly less slowdown than the original arcade boards.

Good stuff! I have a 360 in my Blast City, but either way it's a great way to get your cave (and other shmup) fix. 8-)
