Re: How much does a MS8-29 weigh?

Given my luck with monitors that wouldn't be such a bad idea!

How much does a MS8-29 weigh?

Might seem a strange request but i am having a new kitchen delivered and need to be able to fit a double oven in a cabinet - the oven i have got coming weighs 51kg. I don't have a clue if i am going to be able to lift it in or not on my own. I have previously been able to lift monitors in and out of...

Looking for a joystick for my Mac - advice?

Loving playing Mame on my Mac, at the moment I use a PS3 Sixasis, which does the job but i don't find it comfortable and there are some issues as i use the left analogue stick for movement as don't like the d-pad buttons. I am quite taken with some of the arcade-stick setups I see but there are a lo...

Re: AWSD/Egret3 Monitor Discharge Advice

Unplug from the mains, get a large screwdriver with a rubber handle. Get a decent bit of insulated wire and electrical tape the bare end to the metal on the screwdriver Connect the other bare end of the wire to the metal that goes around the tube, it is usually a bit springy where it comes from the ...

i tried using OpenEmu but i had issues where the rooms i was adding were going into the wrong sections, in other words i would add Atari 5200 games and some would end up in 'arcade' etc

Mame on a Mac

Have been messing with sdlmame the last couple of days and am really impressed - sure it is no Groovymame for the purists, but in terms of actually having a quick few games i think it works great. I am running it via qmc2 and find that stuff that i could never get to run full speed on my pc set-ups,...

Wanted: groovymame win7 install on 15khz monitor guide

I know it is a big ask but I really need the most basic step by step guide to getting groovymame up and running using win7 and a Radeon hd3450 card on my arcade monitor - I have set similar systems up before using xo a with varying success but this is killing me! Anyone who can help with this would ...

Re: PC setup recommendation for emulators

I'm running the following: Intel G3258 3.2ghz OC'd to 4.5GHz Asus H97 mATX motherboard 4GB Memory 120 SSD Radeon 4550 GPU (Radeon 43XX would work fine too) Windows 7 x64 I can run everything you would possibly want to run in MAME at 100% speed, even Cave games. I'd say this build is perfect for fut...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

Why do you compile it chubsta? Any extras compared to the stock one that already has nonag and hiscore support? I would go with Core2, most recent intel CPU. figure that any optimisations are a good thing and can only help it run better, plus its always nice to mess around with stuff, when it works...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

[quote="stellarola"] I'm able to run Cave stuff at 100% without dropped frames/audio stutter with my Dual Core G3258 3.2ghz overclocked to 4.5ghz. I don't think the price of a quad core processor is worth it since it makes no speed increases over a fast dual core processor in MAME. The G3258 is very...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

my vert cab currently has a c2d 8400 4gb running xp 64 overlocked to 3.6ghz - how much of an improvement do you think i would see with a i5 4670k 8gb ram overlocked to 4.2ghz? Worth the cash or would it not make a massive difference as mame doesn't do much with multi-cores anyway i believe...
