Re: Adding a headphone socket

Installing the headphone socket and the volume control in an unused panel button would be very convenient.
Here's a picture of a possible mod (picture obtained from another post on this board ?)

Re: Adding a headphone socket

As FcoBenitez, I would also be interested in installing an headphone socket in my cab: one which cuts off sound to the speakers when the jack is plugged in. If anyone has a working solution, that would be much appreciated.

Re: Dragon Blaze: component identification

I finally received an original MLR8C4 component, taken from a faulty Psikyo board.
Problem is now fixed for the 2P controls :awe:
I am still not sure which kind of equivalent component could be used to fix this kind of problem however.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Re: Dragon Blaze: component identification

I replaced the 74HCT244 at U55 (P2 controls) and it didn't make any difference. When desoldering the RC2 and RC4 arrays to swap them, RC4 (controlling P2 controls) broke into two pieces... This probably explains why I got strange values during the first resistance measurement and then correct ones o...

Re: Dragon Blaze: component identification

thanks for the advice yosai ! Before swapping two arrays as you suggested, I measured again the resistance of the supposedly faulty one and got the exact same values as for the other ones... I am not sure what I did the first time :wtf: Interestingly however, when putting the scope probe on any of t...

Dragon Blaze: component identification

Hi, I have a Dragon Blaze pcb which is nicely working, except for the 2P controls which are always active according to the test mode. 1P and 2P controls go through a MLR8C4 array and then to a 74HCT244. The MLR8C4 array used by the 2P controls has significantly different resistance between pin 1 and...

Nice ! Happy to contribute !

Porchy should also be thanked, since he pointed out some errors in the dump and provided guidelines to make it perfectly working

Re: Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

ok, dump is not good. The silkscreen was wrong: most chips are not 27C301, but AT27C010.
I will have to dump the board again... :problem:

Re: Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

ok, I have dumped all the B board ROMs. There were also two GALs, which I also dumped. I don't know if there are needed and/or protected. I checked the MAME website for submission of new ROMs, but couldn't find anything easy to do :( I can also post the files somewhere if anyone is interested in the...

Re: Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

ok, no problem in dumping it when I have some free time. I am happy if it makes its way to MAME once done.

I will see if I can dump everything on the B-board. Otherwise, I will get in touch. :D

Re: Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

I have a Wellon VP-280 programmer. If someone is willing to help me to know which chips should be dumped, I can try to do it.
However, as already mentioned, the game is very basic, I am not sure it could be interesting to anyone...

Re: Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

It is the same character, spinning and throwing flowers to incoming balloons. Not a platformer game however like in the youtube video. I am still curious about the "2002-10-24" date stamped on the chips, as: (i) 1993 and 1994 are shown on the title screen; (ii) the last game released on the CPS1 har...

Unknown japanese Capcom CPS1 pcb

Hi, I've just received a strange Capcom CPS1 pcb. A- and C-boards look genuine, although the latter is battery-free. B-board seems like a boot, with mask roms labeled "XMQQ (2002-10-24)". The A-board it came with is dead, but swapping it with a known working one resulted in the following: http://i.i...
