Re: Cave and a desert island
I'd throw that Astro in the ocean and swim back for an Egret 2, but yeah, Mushihimesama Futari Black Label would be my choice as well.
Would be awesome to give God mode a shot without anyone disturbing!

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Nah, he seems cool with selling (https://twitter.com/bentouya/status/1035661342785466368). He said he "thought it was better to pass them on to someone else". I guess he doesn't play them anymore. He said the only two he's a bit sad about letting go of are Mushihimesama and DDP DOJ WL. Yeah, seems ...

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Surugaya just got absolutely flooded with CAVE ****: https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=202&search_word=&adult_s=1&rankBy=price%3Adescending I'm guessing a collector died, or an arcade chain just went out of biz... :wtf: Seems like it was a japanese arcade collector (alive and kicking) who so...

Re: PCB Wrapping 101
Haha. I bought the exact same model of apron that the staff over at MAK Japan wears in their daily work at the PCB shop. Does that count?cools wrote:Make sure to wear Japanese white gloves when handling and packing PCBs. Gaijin fingerprints are rumoured to unleash ancient curses.

Re: PCB Wrapping 101
Gotta have the authentic tape :awe: Seems to translate as "curing tape". Loads of it in Japan but it just doesn't seem to be available here, unless it has a different name. Yeah, of course you need the real deal. Can't have european tape/bubble wrap for your japanese boards! ;) Bought some tape on ...

Re: How do you store your bare pcb?
Reorganized the PCB storage a bit. Corstat boxes for CAVE/Raizing/Toaplan, and bubble wrap for the other stuff!
CAVE box protectors with business cards inside them so that I can identify the game/artwork quickly.

Re: PCB Wrapping 101
I've tried parts of this guide a few times: http://www4.big.or.jp/~yotchi/pcb_wrapping.html I tried to find the green bubble wrap that TRY uses, but it's not anti-static according to what I can find, so I went with 3-layer pink instead: https://amzn.to/2JchszY You can also find the tape here: https:...

(Digs out 1.0 kits!) :awe: Speaking of DFK 1.0: I captured when I unlocked Type B and Strong style on my DFK 1.0 PCB, thought it could be fun since the unlock is irreversible. 01:46 - Type B unlocked 03:13 - Strong style unlocked https://www.hasntfiguredouthowtoembedyoutubeproperly.com/watch?v=enfn...

Re: What is your rarest jamma pcb / jamma kit right now
1.0 is rare indeed. Does yours have Ultra mode unlocked? I had to send mine in to Cave to get that unlocked (I sold the board long ago but sort of miss it). I think Ultra mode is unlocked, need to double check when I get home from work though. Mine does not have dots in the MASTER VER text. That 1....

Re: What is your rarest jamma pcb / jamma kit right now
I think the most rare PCB of my collection is that non-upgraded Mushihimesama Futari 1.0 kit. As far as I know, CAVE offered free upgrades from 1.0 to 1.5, so I guess there's not too many left of these vanilla PCB:s! https://i.imgur.com/n01R1pMl.jpg https://cavedb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/futa...

Thanks!zak wrote:Love your labels!And collection...

I made the labels pretty quick from artwork found on the Internet, just to be able to find the game I want to play quick and easy.
Labels are printed on regular paper, laminated and then cut out with a guillotine paper cutter.

http://i.imgur.com/RqLR4Lul.jpg Corstat boxes with anti-static foam inside. Bought from Farnell. Here's the specs: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/100451.pdf I use 3 different sized boxes. One for CAVE CV1000, one for pre CV1000 CAVE boards & Raizing/Toaplan and one for larger PCB:s like Tatusjin...

Re: Do you remember the first time?
My first PCB was Espgaluda, and the second one Mushihimesama Futari 1.5. Played them on my first cabinet (Sega Blast City) which I later traded straight for an Egret 2!
