Re: Battle Garegga (Saturn or PCB?)

I put my saturn in the cab. viletim adpter & pad hacks = awesome. having owned the pcb and port I cant tell the difference (other than being able to switch the bullets to 'visible' :P ) load times are small; maybe ask on shmups.com if you want a more definitive answer. Pretty sure their hiscore sect...

Re: No credits on slap fight

see where the coin inputs lead, might have a broken track/bad input buffer/input multiplexer.

Necro-edit; the inputs are buffered by one (both?) of the AY8910 sound chips near the edge connector. These can be substituted with a YM2149F.

Necro-addendum; there is no freeplay mode.

Re: Good crt tv for supergun?

Depends on what you want to do with it, I suppose. I have a broadcast monitor because they have outs for every in so I can record gameplay. I also have found them to be sturdier than normal TVs when in TATE. +1 for broadcast monitors, they generally handle geometry and sync differences better than ...

i dont get the fuss for something a psp/gamepark console has been able to do for years. maybe if it came with tiny mvs carts people could collect.

Re: Raiden DX PCB repair

id agree floating pins on RAM means they're most likely bad. page with list of equivalents; http://legacy.afonsomiguel.com/Datasheet/2016.html" something will probably turn up on ebay if you feed those chip names in. just watch the chip size some will be 0.3" some 0.6" wide, and also that the speed ...

Re: Vogatek Supergun MK4 - Audio out problems.

supergun could be faulty, but afaik all it does is take the mono speaker +/- from the edge connector and puts it out through a mono 3.5mm jack socket. I've a few boards that hum (especially bootlegs) just because they use a crappy little amp. JAMMA is also designed just to power a single 8 ohm speak...

Re: Arcade Casualties - the hobby where everything breaks

I'm trying to fix a time pilot '84 pcb. it was working when it was stored so i figured maybe one chip had died. many hours later ive found (so far) 4 dead 74157s and 2 dead 74139s, all fujitsu branded. all had stuck outputs. bad enough but most of replacements were pulls so everything took twice as...

Re: Upscaler? RGB consoles to LCD?

for 480i consoles (ps2 onward) i use a YUV cable, works miles better than scart. It shouldn't make *that* much difference in reality, as it's still got to be deinterlaced and scaled..... which is the problem on most sets. The image might be slightly better quality, but it won't be by that much and ...
