VGA is analogic, DVI is digital. System246 and System256 uses VGA. Check if Vpp of System256 VGA output are correct.

But you've checked the VGA output with an arcade monitor not a TV or pc monitor? I you've checked it probably the sys256 would be defective.

Have you checked if works properly the VGA output of Sys256 (Vpp, conected to Namco JAMMA I/O, etc)?
