I currently live in the United States, and have a Hikaru Board plugged into a Capcom I/O, which is plugged into a Vega Jr. Supergun, which is plugged into my US Powered wall socket. The video and audio are run straight fro...

Can you run a MODEL 2C CRX in 15khz mode?

Hello chaps, I recently got a Sega MODEL 2C CRX with Sega Water Ski on ebay and was trying to get it up and running. It came with a Mainboard, Gameboard, Cage, Video Board, and a Happ power supply (I live in Oregon, USA, and most likely the person that used it before me used it in an arcade in the U...

Wells Gardner, is it quality stuff?

particularly this model http://www.wellsgardner.com/products/details.asp?iCat=2&iSubCat=47" as it seems to be the last CRT they are selling that isn't discontinued. I don't know a lot about monitor brands and haven't been able to interact with a lot of Arcade Monitors so I was wondering how the qual...

Question about Choplifter/ Sega System 1 Board

if I were to purchase a Choplifter (Sega System 1) Board, what additional hardware would I need to play the game. I have a 15khz RGB monitor, but I'm assuming I would need a power supply, and I'd also need some sort of way to hook up controls, as far as I know it's non-jamma so that makes things muc...

Re: What am I missing with this power supply?

Tim the white and black to 3pin connector is the AC in, you will have to make your own cable up as Sega don't make a cable for it to plug into your wall socket. I could probably make one but is it worth the wait? thanks Craig, I'll probably try to figure something out on my own to make sure everyth...

Questions on buying parts Naomi/Hikaru

I have recently purchased a Sega Naomi 1 and Sega Hikaru board. I have a Capcom Vs. SNK Naomi 1 Cartridge and Star Wars Racer is installed on my Hikaru board. I also have one Sega JVS I/O board that came with the Hikaru, as well as the Hikaru Cage, but right now the board is outside of the cage. I k...

Re: Sega Hikaru Region Question

ah, I see. At first that's what I thought you meant but I didn't understand the purpose of having the mainboard be different regions if it did not lock games out, but Craig from Giz 10P explained that its purpose was to display correct region specific information, like language, etc.

Re: Sega Hikaru Region Question

http://www.giz10p.co.uk/sega-region-changing/info_18.html Seems its possible, this guy offers a service :) Yes, the information came direct from Sega, I was given it then passed it on to a few select members.. :) Region is controlled by mainboard, not by rom board, so if it is USA, plugging another...

Re: Sega Hikaru Region Question

thanks, and is it ok to ask what sort of pricing would be acceptable for a Hikaru motherboard ard and Star Wars Racer game board? I'm not phising or anything, I'm trying to buy one but don't want to be ripped off. What do they typically go for around? Also, what if I had a USA game board, and a japa...

Sega Hikaru Region Question

does the Hikaru board only have one region (region free)?

could I get a USA board and have it work, and a japanese board and have it work on the same hardware etc? or is there region lockout. If there is, is it easy to change? or hard.
