Re: Scud Race Emulation

With racing games: How wrong is it to use other cars when cornering? I've played racing games for a while, more enthusiasm following Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2. I don't recall using opponents cars as a driving aid then; but certainly from the original Gran Turismo onwards. I sadly own a Ridge Rac...

Re: Scud Race Emulation

Is it wrong that I like the exotic looking Short Course all waterfalls and birds in Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge, more than the more traditional replacement in Power Edition? It's more in keeping with the following medium course with the ship and castles.
It's not very realistic; but Sega.

Scud Race Emulation

My stance on using emulators has softened over the past year. I have to face it, there's loads of games I know I'll never own where emulation is the only viable option. It started with a PC-98 emulator as I know I'll never own the hardware, and, well, one thing led to another and before I knew it, I...

Viewpoint is probably my favourite shooter.

And if you fancy a change from Metal Slug: Top Hunter is good.

Re: Game Gear Micro

How's the big window? On youtube it just looks like a box that doesn't actually magnify? It's ridiculous that the Aleste GG Micro ships with one of these when the cost difference in manufacturing it with a slightly larger screen would probably be less than the separate cost to make the Big Window i...

Re: Game Gear Micro

Got the white Aleste Collection GG Micro today, and the so called "SEGA Big Window" almost makes it playable. GG Aleste 3 is fairly awesome even on such a tiny screen.
Not tried the PS4 versions of the games yet...

Missed MVS. Doh. I'll go for Garou: Mark of the Wolves (over Viewpoint or Metal Slug) NAOMI: Dead or Alive 2 C64: Uridium Game & Watch: Oil Panic Game Boy: Tetris ZX Spectrum: Vectron PS3: After Burner Climax (and Daytona USA is quite nice, even though I'm the only person not too keen on the mus...

I'll stick with Gallon for the down/up shennanigans.
I'm also sure I noticed some serious CPU cheating in Vampire Hunter...

NEC PC-FX (knackered)

Anyone want a not working PC-FX, a controller, a couple of games and some "backup" disks for the price of shipping?

It was previously working then stored in a plastic storage box. When I tried it, it powers on but does nothing. Might be an easy fix?

Re: You've Got Grail!?? AKA The Valuation Thread

Also, what's the following worth:
Hyper Neo Geo 64
Buriki-One
Fatal Fury - Wild Ambition
Samurai Spirits 2 - Asura Zanmaden

I bought them all new, so are boxed and complete. I never actually even took Buriki-One out of the box at all.
It's all so heavy...

Re: You've Got Grail!?? AKA The Valuation Thread

While looking [sadly] at my A4 Bob Wakelin prints, I found some Cave flyers I got back when Cave was cool, and of which I'm not fussed about now the romance is over. With the possibility of re-investing any value into Magic The Gathering cards, as that's where the cool cats are nowadays: Do-Don-Pach...

Re: New Daytona

"showstopper" is a word i usually only hear in relation to last-minute high priority application-breaking bugs. I'm assuming the word can have a positive meaning in its native language. A show-stopper in this context means that the game will be so awesome, everything will stop while we ba...
