Re: Rasperry Pi 2 on CRT?

It's just a regular TV with SCART input not an arcade monitor. Looks like I need an "input" SCART to RCA adapter with a yellow composite to the Pi? Thanks for the settings link. I need to research this a little more as well just wondered had someone here done it already save me trawling through yout...

Rasperry Pi 2 on CRT?

Hi guys I've got a Raspberry Pi running Retropie set up on my flatscreen but I'd rather get it on the CRT. Got any pointers on where to buy something that'll let me connect it via SCART? Also any pointers on getting it outputting 240p or whatever I need would be helpful.

Re: New Daytona

Had a go of this in Dr. Quirkies in Dublin. It's alright. I think I'd still rather play the original if I'd the choice.

Re: Token, Dublin

I'd imagine they'll probably allow kids at some point in the future once the novelty of the place wears off a bit. It's jammed at the moment so they're going to make more money off adults buying pints. It won't stay hip for long there will be somewhere else doing 2018's trend.

It's out already? Where's the one in Cork the bowling alley?

Presume Dr. Quirkies in Dublin will get it when it's out.

Re: Token, Dublin

I think the rules in Ireland are children are only allowed in a bar before 6pm, with parental supervision. Maybe they've relaxed it somewhat but you're still only one drunk child away from the whole venue getting shut down for quite a while if the Gardai are not sympathetic to the kind of business y...

They were out of tokens the day I was there but they gave me a little bag for my change. Here's a few photos on the Facebook page.

Token, Dublin

A new barcade opened in Dublin the other week and it's doing really well. There's capacity for maybe 200 or so and you have to get a reservation most of the time because it's full. Big focus on food but they've got a pretty good selection of dedicated arcade machines and pinball all priced at 50 cen...

Re: New Daytona

I thought they were going to rush this out in January or February, totally forgot about it. The new trailer looks a lot better. The car model is still absolutely hideous though.

Think pro wrestling and sumo wrestling must be an influence. Plus fat people are fun to animate.

Re: Japan Game Preservation Society

Thanks for linking this. I read about these guys in The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers. It's definitely the most interesting book about videogames I've read as I knew **** all about most of the games being discussed which makes for a nice change.

Re: Streets of Rage 1 on Mega Play, does it exist?

This is interesting I'd never head of the Mega Play just the Mega Tech. Always thought the credit for time mechanic of the MegaTech/Gamechoice was annoying back in the day and wish they'd reprogrammed the games instead so cool to learn Sega actually did it. Streets of Rage 1 and 2 have aged well and...

Any interesting MAME game recommendations?

With so much choice it's often hard to think of what to play when you don't have time to go trawling through all the garbage. We all know the greats but what are your favourite lesser known gems. I might post a couple to get us started. Vandyke This is sort of like MERCs if it starred Rastan. Muscle...

Re: Why buy a board when you can mame??

My solution to choice paralysis is to only load a handful of games into MAME. I've never bothered downloading the entire romset.
