Re: Boot or Original : Post original/bootleg PCB photos here

It looks like an original to me then, with the original eproms covered up. Good news :D

I'm trying to dig up a photo "thechop" sent me of his R-Type before he sold it - because for some reason I remember it having less eproms, but may be wrong.

Re: Boot or Original : Post original/bootleg PCB photos here

Afternoon guys, I'm considering getting my hands on this R-Type board. While I was originally looking for a clean, unrepaired and original board - they don't pop up that often. What are your thoughts on this one? Is it an original or conversion? And is it normal to have so many eeproms replaced? r-t...

Moonwalker GFX Issue - Jailbars

Good morning all, I recently unpacked Moonwalker, a PCB I bought from Retrorepair / Xenepp before he disappeared. I did not have a means of testing it at the time, but was sent photos of it up and running. I plugged it in to notice white lines down the screen. These appear on both of my cabs, one ha...

Re: World Rally

Great game! The review Lee at VGI did a few years ago may be over the top but it made WR one of the first JAMMA boards I bought for my collection. Goes for around £30, definitely worth the cash. What I'm about to say, I'm not saying lightly: this game is truly a 2D Sega Rally, at the very least! Ove...

Re: SSF2T / 2X

It's pretty crazy. Especially since I sold one recently for about £60 (thinking I can always buy another one back for cheap). A factor may be that un-phoenixed CPS2 boards get rarer every year. To be honest though, I always thought SSF2T/X was too cheap. Sounds like I recently hit the jackpot. I pi...

thats a useful website, thanks. The pirate/bootleg 2002 looks completely different. These are definitely original boards. Do you know if it came in that odd green case?

Re: Boot or Original : Post original/bootleg PCB photos here

Afternoon guys, I recently got a KOF2002 Green MVS Cart. The boards inside look ok to me, but the case is made out of a different plastic to other MVS carts I have and doesn't have the warning sticker on the side. What's the verdict on this one?

Re: price of a game around the world

For me it was the early 90's, when SF2 first came out. 91 to 94 were the years I remember best! Going to Trocadero and Lazer Quest, putting my pocket money into SF2, Sunset Rider, Fatal Fury 2. Most machines were already 50p/game, £1 for 3 games.

BEST region setting for various CPS2 SFs

Good morning all, I'm new to the CPS2 world but since buying Sharkfactors Capcom Cab thats where my spare cash has been going. I've now got 3 games: HSF2, X-Men V SF, SFA3 and expecting SSF2X shortly. All phoenixed. I was made aware by Sharky at the time that some games like SSF2X plays much better ...

Re: Odd win quotes on SFA3?

After speaking with the seller, it seems that you need to put it to the original language or some of the data is missing. I tried that this morning and it works fine, whats odd is its a GREY asian board & mobo and the "original" language from the phoenix setup is "JAPANESE". I thought grey meant Eng...

Re: CPS2 Question - SSF2X & Different Mobos

If I remember correctly, according to an old email exchange I had with RAZ, phoenixed game have the last rev of program code for each country/region. But sometimes there's not enough room to fit them all. So depending on the original region of the game, the phoenix rom set will not be the same. I'v...

Thats brilliant news guys!
CPS2 wrote:Who did the PE ? The jpn version might crash on the last stage.
The guy who did the Phoenix is one of the admin on J+, dsyde. Seems to know what he's doing, should I be worried here about the board crashing/not working right?

Cheers

Re: CPS2 Question - SSF2X & Different Mobos

My understanding is, if it's a usa blue ssf2 turbo, it'll play like a usa blue ssf2 turbo (i.e. ridiculous ninja-skilled cpu), no matter what you set the region to in the phoenix menu. Hmm... that needs clarifying before I buy the board then. Really after one with a good CPU. Anyone else? CPS2 - No...

CPS2 Question - SSF2X & Different Mobos

Good morning all, I've been offered a blue SSF2X, I believe its a US phoenixed version. 2 Questions: 1. I have a BLUE "EUROPE" mobo, will that work with it? 2. I was recommended the Japanese SSF2X, apparently it has the most playable CPU. As this board is Phoenixed, will playing it on Japanese just ...

I ran into the same problem, had to nip home from work at Lunch time. And it ain't close, a 50 minute commute. Appliance deliveries are understandable ;) And I used Martin the Deliveryman, really nice chap, very reasonable and looked after the Cab as if it was his own. He even helped me up 2 flights...

Re: Puzzle Bobble recommendations

Go for Puzzle Bubble 2 on MVS if you already have the Mobo! Mine's a nice clear cart, the tunes are a bit less repetitive, plus you have different modes and backgrounds.
