Naomi 1 board wont accept DIMM board?

When I stick the 3.17 net DIMM board I recently recieved from Marco in my Naomi board, it comes up with the Error 01 - The Game **blah blah** error. After some gnashing of teeth it seems that my naomi mother board has too old a EEPROM version to work with GD-ROM titles (I'm assuming that means it do...

Re: Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Update - found a local Cnc place litterally 100 yards from my old house - drove past it while trying to find a parking space for a haircut - the guy had the doors open and I clocked him on the cnc mill... Jumped on the brakes, had a ten min chat with the young guy, and he's happy to cnc cut my melam...

Re: Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Yar - I've not worked out yet if the CP will be wooden, or possibley wood with an alluminium overlay (theres a sheet metal place across from my office that will make me up anything I need. Either way I'll need to check the clearance under the panel to make sure I can fit the gubbins in nicely, and p...

Re: Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Did a load of line drawings, but though it would be nice to bang out some CAD... still needs work, but gives the cab maker an idea of what I'm looking for. I've flared out the side panels to stop it tilting forward, rather than using a floor plate like the Pony (doesnt translate well in wood). Still...

Re: Mounting a PC to a board for MAME in a cab

I've used builders band (comes in a big roll from screwfix) successfully in the past.

Re: Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Yeh, its a lovely cab... pity I can't find one of the bloody things! What I like most is the small overall size, and the angle of the monitor. For my planned repro build I'm looking at using 18mm (3/4") melamine faced MDF + 3/4" T-moulding - not sure on color etc yet, but it looks ace. I'm looking a...

Re: Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Dug my drawing board and T-square out last night, and did the bulk of a design based on some guestimate measurements made from the pics I've got of the cab - if I can get those measurements I'll be able to make my tribute cabinet pretty much identical ergonomically. In terms of monitors to go in it,...

Jaleco Pony II / III dimensions

Hi all, I'm not having much luck finding an original, but I'd really like something of that formfactor for a slot in my games room. Anyway, I'm mates with a cabinet maker who can make me a nice woody equivelent, provided I can give him some accurate drawings. Now, the pencils and set square bit I ca...

Re: Dreamcast emulation

Try Makaron for dreamcast/Naomi emulation if NullDC isnt doing what its told. Also, both NullDC and Makaron can use hardware accelerated video, so make sure you have a not entirely **** video card in there (i.e. not an integrated X3100 :P). I can get 60fps Dreamcast and naomi emulation from Makaron ...

Re: Best and Worst of Show.

Best - Ikaruga cab was certainly a real looker - the artwork, color scheme and s**t hot monitor all combined to make me seriously envious. I love vertical shooters too :P Special mention:- The mame coffee table rigs - very well finished. Not sure about having a non-tilted lcd in there (wouldnt be ve...

Re: Mame machine turning on.

PC motherboard power hasnt been "lock on, lock off" since the days of AT power connectors on motherboards. All modern (i.e. the last 8-10 years) ATX based boards use a momentary switch to turn on/off the board. Try replacing the Maplin locking button with a momentary button (arcade pushbutton is fin...
