I honestly wouldn't attempt this until you've ruled out the 4 slot as being faulty.

So the bright areas might be just a little too bright, but the dark areas are equally too dark. You lose some detail in the dark areas. Just get a JAMMA volt meter like this. MVS wiring is slightly different to JAMMA but voltage is still wired the same.
