Re: Help dimm net 4.02 miss Network settings menu

You can erase and re-use the existing EPROM in the NAOMI (this is what I used on mine) but if you want to purchase a new EPROM to burn the new BIOS onto, it's a 27C160

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

Trust me, you don't want the Asia version... (grunts instead of japanese attack names being spoken on audio) But it's possible to region change the particular version you have because the ROM is identical for all regional variations. lol didn't realize the Asia version was that bad... I think I wou...

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

Interesting to know that some games can be region modded and others not so much - I had assumed that wouldn't be possible due to the language differences between regions I used the Japan code on my board because the Asia region wasn't available (Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter Asia 970620) but...

Re: Astro 2 user manual

FWIW NAC & Astro 2 are different cabs. Wow I just looked it up and you're right, I honestly had no idea, my apologies richy13 apparently bought one and was going to scan it, but that was many years ago so I don't know if he still has it or got around to scanning it http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/view...

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

You can use a different region code to get your game going again even if the region your board is from isn't decrypted.... I just used the Japan Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter ROM set to revive a grey Asia region board that had suicided :)

Re: CPS2 battery life and replacement

Unfortunately I don't think it matters which batteries you use now - I just don't think they'll last as long as the older batteries because the older batteries probably used lead/mercury and other materials that are not used anymore for environmental reasons... In saying that, for some reason I've h...

Re: Astro 2 user manual

Did you mean Astro 2 as in the New Astro City? I've found nothing but that in my searches for an original Astro City manual and was never able to even find a scan of the original, I ended up buying a real one instead. If you're after a scan of the New Astro City manual, I'll happily find it for you....

Re: Namco System 357 Beeps 3 times then shuts down, does it need to be reflowed/reballed?

Sounds like it. That's what the PS3 does when it goes into YLOD mode due to graphics chip not making proper contact with the board.

I believe the 3 beeps just means "general hardware error" however so it may be something else, but it certainly won't hurt to reflow if you can do it.

CPS1 - Street Fighter 2 CE PALs

Hi guys, Trying to repair graphics glitching on a CPS1 Street Fighter 2 CE board, I've found 1 dead mask ROM already and I've replaced that but still have some issues. I've checked the C board and the custom appears to be fine, but the 2 PALs on the C board are very very scratched up and I'm suspect...

Re: Important Capcom CPS2 Announcement

I'm personally interested as a collector in the preservation aspect of this, I've currently got 6 boards all running original ROMs with batteries and 2 that have suicided I would really prefer to replace the battery on and keep original. Sadly it's true people can use this information to make conver...

Re: The King Of Fighters 14

It does look a lot like Street Fighter 4, but that's not a bad thing, SF4 played really well and I thought looked great as well.... it's always harder with 3v3 and I assume a much smaller budget. SF5 (at least for me) was disappointing so far, Tekken 7 isn't out until early 2017, so it'll be this an...

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

I assume the way it's verified is someone plays the game through in it's entirety without bugs.... the reason they're there in the first place? leo and idc probably don't have the time to 100% each game they decrypt...

Re: Astro City vs New Astro light bulb

Yeah I might keep an eye out for an AMP connector so I can do that later if required - I got lucky and only the tube was shot, and the local hardware store sold a replacement for the same tube I had, so I put that in and it worked. At least there are options for when I eventually do have to use anot...

Re: Astro City vs New Astro light bulb

I'm a bit far away from you for that :P but thank you for the offer the local hardware store/electrical supplier will have them if I need to go that route, the plan is to stay as original as possible so I might try and get an original style starter first.

Re: Astro City vs New Astro light bulb

That's what I'd like to do. However the screw type starters are almost impossible to find here (they can be bought from eBay but are very expensive)

Edit: Just checked on eBay and there's a Chinese seller selling compatible starters for about $15, I can live with that, so I'll order one of those.

Re: Astro City vs New Astro light bulb

That's a couple of very good ideas. If that's your cab with the strip wrapped around the fluro tube, I like your speakers too, they look good. I thought the original Astro used 4 ohm speakers - but I suppose with the low power outputs it wouldn't make too much of a difference. Will try to keep it or...

Re: Astro City vs New Astro light bulb

I'd prefer to keep mine original if possible, but I'm tempted to just bypass it with an LED strip since that would be the easier option, unfortunately this would also need to be done by an electrician as Australia has fairly strict rules regarding this kind of thing. I suppose I could just buy one a...

Astro City Speaker Alternative

Hi guys, I found these on ebay a couple of months ago and replaced my stock Astro speakers with them. These are magnetically shielded, a LOT larger than the stock speakers while still fitting in the space provided in the cab, they don't hit anything, sound better, louder and they fit into the standa...
