Oh dear... I'll test that tonight. >_>
I played through Field D (and the entire game) without issue earlier tonight. So things look to be okay so far.

Re: Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

Repair log: - motherboard had to be replaced with another motherboard of the same model, - replacement motherboard bios had to be flashed to the right version (F2), - Compact Flash was on its last legs and not working right so that had to be replaced (I cloned the data to an 8GB SSD and used an IDE ...

Re: Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

Ah, never buy cheap cards. They usually are bootlegs. Strangely enough, it's the actual original CF card the PCB shipped with. I guess either the CF card or the cf adapter are on their last legs. The motherboard itself was shot, though--some of the solder joints on the corner that tells it to power...

Re: Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

Okay, after a lot of troubleshooting, I was able to load my back-up Compact Flash card image to a 40gb IDE Hard Drive...and was able to get the game to boot. I'm getting the JVS USB 410A Error at this point after it's done the loading screen check, and that's even with my SEGA JVS I/O hooked up to i...

Re: Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

Okay, I'm at a total loss for where to go. My thinking is that the Compact Flash card might be the problem...though, the fact that I've used SelfImage to back-up the card, flash the 4.0 dump (the Bicycle Repairman one), revert to the back-up, flash the 4.0 dump again, and so on... well, the card bei...

Re: Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

Yep, I did just that earlier. He replied: Sounds like a corrupt image. The windows xp embedded on this is pretty tight if I remember, no keyboard driver even. The cf image has been dumped, so should be on the net somewhere. Regards My reply back was: Yeah, I've tried it with both the XP version that...

Deathsmiles II - "Disk error" during boot?

I picked up a non-working Deathsmiles II pcb this past week and have made some headway in reviving it, but have hit a bump as it gives me a "Disk error Press any key to restart" when booting up. I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on what I need to try. Images: http://imgur.com/a/djpde Troublesh...

Re: Sega Astro City color problem with Atomiswave mobo?

Does the Sega Astro City have a switchable termination that allows it to go from 75ohm to 1kohm? It was suggested I look for that, but I'm not sure what exactly that would be on the chassis (Nanao MS8-29FSG).

Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No Killing B-Boards!)

I think i've given up trying to run this in the case. Every time I end up with garbled sound, so I take it apart, fiddle with it a bit to get it working, reassemble and then ... same problem. I think that when its in the case and I connect it to the A board, something flexes and there is a contact ...

Sega Astro City color problem with Atomiswave mobo?

I got an Atomiswave recently and it'll work fine in my jamma Supergun in both 15khz and 32khz resolutions. However, I'm having picture problems with it when I try to hook it up to my Sega Astro City (Nanao MS8-29FSG monitor) running in 15khz mode. Atomiswave dip switch settings: Dip 1 OFF / Dip 2 OF...

Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No Killing B-Boards!)

If the audio crackle is only in certain game files (like D&D:SOM and AvP) and not all of them, a possible theory is that it might be those files and not the boards. Mitsurugi-w said he was going to investigate. Fox1 over on Neo-Geo posted a video showing the problem with D&D: SOM. http://www.neo-geo...

Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No Killing B-Boards!)

Got the LCD installed in the B-board shell last night. I do have a question though.. How can I get the duct tape crud off this thing? I've tried goo gone and it didn't phase it. I have a rattle can of goof off, but that stuff eats plastic... I'd try using 91% isopropyl alcohol and a rag and/or dull...

Re: Picture Wobbling leading to HV Shutdown -- Sega Astro City Nanao MS8-29FSG

Thanks, I had a spare chassis, so I installed that and it's working fine so far (having a problem with getting the Orange to look right on a couple of boards like Kono e Taco, but I'm sure I'll figure that out). Going to put a cap kit in on the old chassis.

Picture Wobbling leading to HV Shutdown -- Sega Astro City Nanao MS8-29FSG

I have a Sega Astro City with a Nanao MS8-29FSG that has, within the last week, started to give me a picture wobble/wave on the edges of the screen whenever I turn it on. There’s also some brief horizontal tearing while it does this. It generally seems to last about 3 minutes and then goes away on i...

Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No F'ing Drama)

In my case, my box arrived with no damage at all. But I did notice the items were a bit loosely packed in the box. If I had any suggestion (aside from thicker boxes), it would be to add additional bubble wrap or packing peanuts to help keep the items from shaking around in the boxes.

Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No F'ing Drama)

Per a post in the old thread, I went ahead and ordered one of these micro SD card extension cables off ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/261894745478?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ) so that the card can be easily removed without having to open up the case each time. I'll re...

Re: naomi display

Yep, the Naomi defaults to 32khz. Flipping the 1st dip switch switches it to 15khz mode. Most all the fighting/puzzle/shmup games will load just fine at 15khz. The only games that I've seen require 32khz are the racing games. Crazy Taxi and Jambo Safari are exceptions as they have 15khz modes and wi...
