Re: Middle East - GCC - Gulf Arcade Enthusiasts

Nothing being scrapped then? As long as they're safe from the bin, that's the most important thing.

Re: Resurrection of CAVE?!?

I don't think a port of Maximum would do well and it'd be a mistake to attempt it. It's visually very unappealing compared to other DDPs, there'd be a fair amount of work required to make it a viable stick-and-buttons game off of its touchscreen origins, and it's got baggage attached to it. I reckon...

Re: Anyone seen a cab like this?

Huh, there's a name I haven't heard for a long time. JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.) invaded a forum set up by some friends over 15 years ago, out of the blue. It wa...

Re: [Project] Capcom Mini Cute Cabinet Production

That's pretty special, as I said on A-P :awe: If you end up sending a bunch to the UK with those monitors, I might be interested in jumping in on that depending on exact price and my own financial situation after Christmas... I'd be more than happy with a brand-new reproduction as close as this, ins...

Re: 25" NOS monitor 15khz

Didn't someone on here neck the monitor in their Pony a couple of months ago and tried to sell it? I can't find the topic anymore so I can't remember who it was and don't know if the cab got bought in the end, but this is the correct size they'd need to get running again, right? Long way to travel t...

Re: Selling one restored TAITO MT-8

Absolutely mad that we're only aware of a single digit amount of these left in the world... hope it goes to a good home! I wonder if there are a bunch in Japan or other parts of Asia that we just don't know about due to the language barrier.

Did this go in the end? :) Guessing it did, but just checking since this and the UKVac haven't been posted in/edited since the weekend.

Ok, will have to pick up Puzzle Bobble.

First one seem to both look and sound nicer than PB2.
It is but PB2 has better 1p modes.

Puzzle games work well. Puzzle Bobble, Puzzle Fighter, etc. But there's loads more on MAME.

Re: Deathsmiles 1 & 2

Ah, mostly disappointing because I don't care for DS, but the promise of more ports in the future is good. Hopefully Cave will have some input and authority over these ports and be able to assert some degree of accuracy as a minimum. I suppose I've never played DS2 and I might enjoy it, so if they'r...

I would've thought arcade announcements would come at JAEPO but you never know.
Fair point. More likely something else then. Another PC port would be nice, but could be something mobile related. I'll keep expectations low.

Re: CAVE iOS games are back!

It’s a bit annoying that the version of DFK I bought has been ignored and I need to pay £7 for the hd version :( Yeah, I've got the same problem, can't bring myself to rebuy it right away, but I think I'll break eventually. Turns out I bought DeathSmiles and completely forgot. Blissful Death/DOJ di...

Re: exA-Arcadia

To me it sounds like the concern is that people overseas are going to miss out on the desirable early games like A&B if they end up being super-limited and won't be reprinted as Shou suggested. This **** is hard, I can understand why non-Japanese sales are going to be small at first if Japanese dema...

Re: exA-Arcadia

Type-R will never go to console. It uses the full spec of the platform and a port as-is is not possible. Current consoles maybe. If you've licenced it exclusively, that's reason enough and you're well within your rights to do so, but PS5 or Scarlett (or a solid modern gaming PC) would be capable, I...

Re: Tekken 7 2 player offline

Bear in mind you need the Tenpo router with the special firmware for the cabs to communicate with each other. Arcade Club Leeds seem to have it set to Event Mode permanently these days, which sucks because you can't sit on it to play SP while you wait for someone else to jump on. I'm sure they were...

Re: exA-Arcadia

It's not trivial to reduce your playable game view down from 16:9 to 4:3, or expand vertically, and keep your design 100% intact without making changes (unless you're something like a puzzle game with a fixed game field you can just add space around). I did wonder how they'd handle that if 4:3 CRT s...
