Re: custom joysticks (general MVS/console use)

I always thought these cases were very neat and a cost-effective way to build a somewhat customized stick:

Re: Model 3 (VF3) Power Supply

So if I bought a PSU like the one you're selling, I would have to buy a Model 3 wiring kit to use it with my board? Would it be possible to make my own wiring kit? I have all the necessary connectors on the Model 3 side. I'm tempted, but that's really more money than I'd like to spend on this, espe...

Re: Model 3 (VF3) Power Supply

Should you wish to go the "new proper PSU" way, I have a Sanwa SWN-JVS power supply for sale. Although it says JVS in the name it should work fine considering Sanwa themselves sell a Model 3 wiring kit for this PSU. (I only have the JVS harnesses though.)

Re: Arguably the best platformer ever turns 20

Never played Sonic 2 but the first game in the series didn't do anything for me. So I'd have to go with the Super Mario World crowd on this one. Nintendo still hasn't made a game which comes anywhere close to the brilliance of SMW and A Link To The Past. I never understood what people saw in Super M...

Nah, it's really not worth the effort. You may as well keep the board, give it to a tech-savvy friend, fix it yourself or whatever you choose.

Re: Blast City 220v wiring to 110v line...

I am pretty sure that all cabinets leaving Sega were wired for 100 VAC. If these have been adapted for 200 VAC, it was probably done by installing a stepdown transformer. Remove the transformer and you'll be good to go! I am guessing these cabinets are ordered from Hong Kong...?

Re: Neo Geo MV-1A without sound

Well I've already written the board off as a loss and sent a refund. Neo_Arcadia may or may not be interested in trying more advanced problem solving to eventually fix it, not worth it to have the board shipped back to me so he gets to keep it or throw it away at his own discretion.

Sigh. Clearly something is broken beyond what you'd expect a buyer to figure out, so I've issued a refund. Thanks for everyone's input.

Neo Geo MV-1A without sound

Hey guys, got a bit of an issue here... So I sold off my last couple of games a few weeks ago and member Neo_Arcadia picked up my Neo Geo bundle. It contained an MV-1A motherboard with Universe BIOS (version probably a few years old now) and a few cartridges. Last I played things working perfectly f...

CPS3 battery swap service?

Anyone performing CPS3 battery swaps nowadays? Preferably in Europe to cut down on shipping costs and enable insurance without suffering the full force of import taxation.

I am selling my 3rd Strike to someone local to me but he'll definitely need to get the battery swapped out pretty soon.

Nice to see you back, best guesses added. I'd be interested in the following if your selling SSF2T, SFA3 and RF2. ;) Thanks! Looks like the remains of my cabinet will be leaving home tonight already, once it is gone I'm going to start digging through my storage space and put everything else up for ...

Re: What's it worth?

Hey guys, long time no see! Been out of the arcade scene for a while, sold most of my collection some two years ago to fund my coffee hobby (commercial espresso machines are expensive!), recently got into road biking and decided it was time to get rid of the rest to free up some space. Before postin...

Make sure it is a more recent model of wireless controller, the earliest models did not have a common ground setup so will not work for your purposes.

Is the photo of the harnesses of your cab or just for reference? The connector for power looks like JST-VH.

It would probably sound like crap and might damage your TV/amplifier as the signal level is much higher than expected.

Re: How do you wire sound through the scart on a Vogatek?

Yes, but you'd still need to attenuate the sound. JAMMA outputs speaker level, anything using a SCART socket will expect line level.

Re: How do you wire sound through the scart on a Vogatek?

You build a really trivial circuit consisting of two resistors: http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/speaker_to_line.html http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/speaker_to_line.gif SPEAKER OUT should go to Speaker+ (pin 10) on JAMMA, SPEAKER GND goes to ground (not Speaker- mind you, ground!), LINE OUT goes...

Re: Problems with Sega i/o Jamma

What do you have wired to pin 25/26/c/d on the JAMMA edge? Just as the diagram says the auxiliary connector is for buttons 6-8, so you need to have buttons 4-5 wired to JAMMA and only button 6 to aux. Not that your wiring should result in permanent grounding though... hmm...

You're not even telling us how you wired up the buttons, are we supposed to guess the pinout? Without details there's no way to make some sort of analysis... :ugeek:

Ain't quite fixed yet! Jojo2 only requires three 128 MBit modules, not four.
